We were so excited to have our dinner. Cute cozy town, horrible restaurant. We got there, I went up to the hostess and she asked me if I had checked in and I said I have a reservation, we were right on time on the dot. She immediately cut me off and said so you checked in?? In a very rude attitude, this was the hostess Courtney per her name tag.
30 minutes passed and we asked Courtney if we could have an update on how much longer our table would be. She told us that we would have to wait an extra 20-30 minutes. She showed me her OpenTable reservation list and there were about 5 people ahead of us that checked in OVER AN HOUR AGO. A guy named Alex (maybe another host??) walked over and said a table just cleared, Courtney looks at us and said theres your table. If we did not say anything, we would have been waiting for a very long time even with the reservation. They were just sitting random people as they walked in. Super disorganized.
We sit down at the table and it was very dirty. It was not bussed, Alex used a Clorox tissue to wipe it down. This is completely unsanitary and honestly this whole place should be reviewed by the health inspection board more than once a month. Then, after a couple minutes of waiting, we got our order taken, our appetizers arrive, and there are no utensils. More waiting. We asked a very sweet runner if she could bring us some utensils, and she never did. More waiting. The drinks are absolutely terrible. One drink had no alcohol, the others tasting like half a tequila bottle was poured into it. Don’t get me started on the burgers. I didn’t even know if it was an Edible. The truffle fries tasted horrible the worst burger I’ve ever had in my life. It was almost raw, and I asked for medium well. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
I really have to emphasize on the hostess Courtney she does not know how to use OpenTable and does not know how to do her job as she was wondering aimlessly around the restaurant, and being really rude to all guests. She was trying to figure out how many tables were available, super disorganized. Just overall highly unprofessional women. Will not be returning and I highly encourage you not to make a visit here.
The clam chowder was decent but nothing special. The only edible thing but barely. Tons of drunk people everywhere, old ladies grinding on each other in front of kids. It was a Christmas night. Don’t fix this, please don’t reach out to me. I work in the restaurant industry, I’ve worked 10+ years and im in management. Absolute chaos. I don’t plan on ever coming back and not recommending this to anybody that I know because I want...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Harry's Bar and Grille in Cape May, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.
First of all, the location of the restaurant is excellent. It has a great energy all day long, with constant live music and a spacious atmosphere. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal and soak in the lively ambiance.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted warmly by a great server and friendly staff. Their hospitality made me feel welcome and set the tone for a wonderful dining experience.
For lunch, I decided to start with a round of appetizers. I ordered the wings, scampi flatbread, and crab dip. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. The wings were perfectly crispy and coated in a delicious sauce. The scampi flatbread had a delightful combination of flavors, and the crab dip was creamy and packed with seafood goodness.
To quench my thirst, I ordered a half and half crush drink, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The blend of flavors was refreshing and the drink went down smoothly.
For the main course, I decided to try the shrimp Po'boy and Italian beef sandwich, which I split with a dining companion. The seasoning on both sandwiches was spot-on, adding a burst of flavor to every bite. The shrimp in the Po'boy were perfectly cooked and the Italian beef was tender and juicy.
I also want to mention the kid's pizza at Harry's Bar and Grille. It's a cheat code! The pizza is a large size at a kids' meal price, making it a great option for families. It's a generous portion that can easily be split between a couple of kids.
In terms of the restaurant itself, the location is great. The rooftop seating area provides a lovely view, and the entire establishment is well-maintained and clean.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Harry's Bar and Grille in Cape May. The location is excellent, with a vibrant atmosphere and constant live music. The food is delicious, from the appetizers to the main courses, and the drinks are fantastic. The kid's pizza is a great option for families. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another memorable dining experience at Harry's...
Read moreI am extremely disgusted by Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille. First off, the restaurant (and I say that loosely) only accepted walk ins so my family went early to get a table. They told us the wait would be an hour so we placed our reservation at 7:11 pm. We wait the hour and were greeted by the hostess saying it would be another 45 minutes after the hour, we were seated at 8:45 pm. When we looked at the dining room it was barely full and the people that arrived ahead of us without reservations were seated immediately.
The service was slow and the food took incredibly long. We were already ravenous from wating almost 2 hours for a table. We ordered 2 appetizers the calamari and the druken steamers. They took 35 minutes to arrive and the clams were not cleaned probably and were full of sand. Which was extremely upsetting since we we already so hungry. The calamari portion was skimpy and looked reheated and soggy on the plate. It was an embarrassment to all seafood.
The entrees took another 20 minutes which was irritating and infuriating. We ordered 2 fried rice dishes and 2 steak frites. The kitchen switched up the order and brought out 3 fried rice dishes and only one steak. The rice was salty and looked like it was reheated in the microwave. The steak was blackened and the tofu looked dehydrated. The plates that food was served on looked dirty and should not presented to the customer in that condition. The steak was very tough and looked dry upon arrival, very unappealing. The fries were cold and unsalted while everything was oversalted. The entrees were nauseating and we couldn’t stand to look at them.
Being apart of the food industry for over 15 years, the service was unacceptable. When the manager was notified that our party was unsatisfied, they didnt come out and apologize or listen to our complaints. We left as soon as we could and will NEVER be returning to Harry’s again. If I could give -20 stars I would. We were left sick to our stomachs and completely aggravated. Please give your business to another...
