Winterwood Gift & Christmas Shoppe — Local services in Cape May

I have shopped at this store for years buying my personalized Christmas ornaments and gifts in July on vacation. This year when I got home I opened 1of the ornaments and it was broken w/1piece missing so I didn't feel I broke it and that it was broken and overlooked when being wrapped in the bubble wrap. I called right away and a man took the information and said he'd send another. Nothing came so I intended to take it back the next time I was in Cape May for business. I went today just to get a replacement and they asked me the man's name which I forgot. My receipt was long gone as I shred them when I charge. The item cost $8.99 & they refused to replace my ornament which was in their bag. I was horrified at their lack of customer service and the fact the manager implied I was a liar because WE WOULD NEVER HAVE GIVEN YOU A BROKEN ITEM. The manager on duty insisted there was a 7 day return policy and my ornament was old and couldn't be replaced. I would have accepted a like ornament of the same value. They lost me as a customer and the two women with me who fully intended to make purchases. I am saddened because I loved the tradition created for Christmas giving. I also would never have gone to the trouble of returning it if I had broken it.I worked in Customer Service 20 years and know the value of a satisfied customer. ITEMS NOT RECEIVED. My husband and I visited the store while on vacation in May 2022. It looked like a beautiful store with wonderful decorations. We always like to purchase something to remember our trips. We chose a few Christmas villages and lights to be shipped to our home in California. That was May and this is November. No items ever shipped or received. We are talking a few hundred dollars. When we call the store we get routed to the owner “in charge” of shipping: With the many calls they could see our receipt but do not know what we purchased? I've been to other Christmas shops in other tourist towns and this is probably my favorite. You can find any ornament you can think of for your Christmas tree theme from traditional classics to WWE wrestler ornaments! There was also a second floor that we didn't venture to because the first floor was already overwhelming. I'm not sure if there's an elevator so people with mobility issues will only be able to stay on the first floor.
