King's Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Cape May

I’ve been twice to this place and the experience was pretty much the same. Ice cream is good, not good enough for what you pay, but good enough to be considered a decent ice cream. Still, I understand and do not complain on the price being Cape May. Service is fine and I don’t blame the kids there, I see they have good attitude and do their best, they clearly haven’t received the proper training. But there is one specific girl I saw in the store twice which I think she isn’t happy with her life.

After many years of getting ice cream from the same place, a new contestant entered the game this year. Kings has a great atmosphere and looks gorgeous, so we had high hopes for some new competition in town. The prices are the same as the other big competitor on the Mall…which is expensive, so you’re not going to pay any leas here. The flavors are limited but they do offer an interesting soft serve infusion option. Lots of options with that. They’ll take your soft serve and infuse it with lots of sweetened cereal options as well as natural herb flavors like mint or lavender. Hours online showed they were open until 10pm and we arrived at 9:30. The guy working flipped the close sign after we entered and informed us that tonight they close at 9:30. He was very nice & said we were able to be served. The girl behind the counter on the other hand had a bad attitude. She acted as if we had done something wrong to her. She slammed ice cream on the counter, didn’t give the right portions (my sister got a small which was 1.5 scoops & I got a regular which should have been 2 scoops and mine was less then hers!), didn’t offer toppings & never smiled & was not friendly.
