Hi! I was just here today with my boyfriend. Was really excited because the place had great reviews and coffee and food looked amazing (Im gluten free so the options were promising!) When we got there the person at the cash register was looking at me weird (I’m pakistani brown girl already kinda alienated in Cape May which is mostly caucasians) and we ordered our coffees which were really good. Then we got our sandwich (gluten free egg and cheese with Turkey sausage). We had a bite and liked it but then found two hairs before we even got a second bite in. I would’ve let it go and just thrown it out but felt upset that we paid for it and didn’t get what we wanted so thought we should at least tell the baristas. Each of them gave me a disgusted look when I told them (same as cashier did before to me) and one said “I guess I can make it again” not even saying sorry or in the least apologetic. Then another barista looked at me annoyed and said can I have the sandwich. I said we already took the hairs out. She said I can just throw it out. I felt so upset and looked down upon (paying customer, also tipped) that I just decided to tell them I didn’t want the sandwich anymore that it was ok. They again didn’t say sorry or offer any refund. I at least expected an apology. Honestly was really disappointed and looked forward to breakfast here. As we got out of the store I was very upset and felt looked down upon and mistreated. Ruined my morning and I’m here on vacation. People are really nice here but this encounter shocked me honestly. You shouldn’t, as an establishment, look down and treat people of color differently, especially when we were nothing but polite and courteous. I’m really still upset and shaken. No refund was offered either. If you’re a person of color, just beware...
Read moreFrom the moment I said hello, I was treated like a nuisance, older woman at the cashier was miserable, I think simply existing bothered her. I got my order, and they didn't get my fiancée's order, it was a simply mistake. Instead of simply saying oh let me get her order, the girl who make the coffee started arguing with me, saying that she gave me mine already. Before I could even explain the issue, she was defensive and rude, there was a simple misunderstanding. It wasn't even a problem, but it was the immediate aditude that I even asked her a question. I ended up saying dont worry, I'll go somewhere else and leaving the place. I walked outside, tried what was supposed to be a hot choclate with a shot of esspresso; it was terrible, all milk foam and no coffee, no chocolate, threw it away. Girls at the machine kept texting back and forth touching their phones and food products, nice and sanitary, I didnt see one thing measured correctly. I regret coming here and even tipping. Paid for bad coffee and to be treated poorly. Thanks. Anyone who thinks this is good has never had good espresso based coffee. Don't get sucked in here while walking the mall you'll...
Read moreAbsolutely stop in here and recharge!! If you love coffee, which I feel like you must if you're reading this (🙃), you do not want to miss this place! The coffee drinks we ordered here were the very best I've tried in probably decades. I had the bananas foster latte and my fiance had dark roast coffee. The latte didn't taste artificial or sweet, so naturally and subtly flavored with nothing outdoing the taste of a fantastic rich espresso. The coffee was similarly rich and just oh-so-flavorful. I enjoyed every drop of mine and most of my fiance's 🤭🫣 I don't normally rave but I'm definitely raving.
Making the whole experience even better was the fantastic, friendly service from Jewels and Marissa! These two lovely baristas were quick, professional, made our drinks to perfection, and didn't kick out my fiance no matter how many cheesy jokes he made: Thank you ladies, You should...
