How did I just spend $48 on lunch for two? Two entrees and a drink- picked up just now, followed your chalk lines, paid my exorbitant tab, and left wondering when the heck did Dharma's become so bougie and overpriced. Your food is amazing. Best veg-fare in town. Though I think you're a gift from above, because everyone has veg-options, GOOD ones, and charges less than half than what you do now. I ordered the tempeh ruben because online it said $11.95. That is a reasonable price, so when I was charged $18.95 I was dumbfounded. Encouraged to order over the phone, I am likely going to google Dharma's, end up seeing your phone number and menu, and order from there. I guess you expect me to know that your information isn't accurate online, because when I asked about it, your cashier said, "Oh yeah, that's from 6 or 7 years ago." Ok, maybe I should go to factcheck.org before I trust google. If you're to tell me that my google search is inaccurate, at least admit to making sure they have your correct phone # so people can call you to give you business, making sure they have your correct address so people can drive to you and give you business, but nah, y'all can't vouch for the prices. Since that is the case, I will have you know that no tempeh ruben, certainly not yours, is worth $20 after tax. There is a beautiful local spot called Windmill Cafe about a mile away that has the same dish, equally as good, and you can get three of them for that price. I am going to suggest to everyone they go there now, because you have big portions, yes, and well-made food, yes, but you're not the boss of the block. Pizza My Heart has Miyoko's cheese and field roast sausage all vegan pizzas now. Betty Burger has Beyond Burgers. You can't charge absurd prices for things that aren't even your competitive edge anymore. I asked about the $5 coupon that I get for being a loyal customer and email subscriber, but they said no it isn't available. I will post the picture where it indeed says in January 2020 that you are offering the $5 off until December of 2020. So I am definitely bummed and now broke that your costs are through the roof. Adding to this is the fact that I couldn't leave a tip, because your staff is absolutely great, because I had NO MONEY left in my pockets. Lunch shouldn't cost 50 bucks. I supported you on your last day of business in March, I returned on your first day back in business last week, I ordered again today, and am just so disappointed. I had to write this before I even ate this food because I'm basically going to be eating a king's feast while on a fixed/stagnant/non-income. *I have my own business, and it has a Google listing. They call me incessantly about making updates to it. If you're going to convince yourself that Google hasn't tried to get a hold of you at all in the last 7 years to update your prices, fine, I can't prove otherwise, but I know you could make an edit to that super wrong information on that site which equates to false advertising. **More on your competitors: They would all honor the prices that a customer found. Customer is always right? More like Dharma's is always rich. (prove me wrong?) (or just...

Summary: heaven for a vegan gluten-free diner, with some extras for those less dietarily strict. Pricey. Huge entrees. Not enough of the Incredibly! Delicious! fries that came with my companions vegan gluten-free burger; i only got two of them.
Very healthy good food. if you're not used to it, some dishes can seem a bit bland. huge servings with prices to match. don't order soup and an entree; the soup showed up in the size bowl i might make a cake or cookies in. it would have been nice if the person at the register had taken note that one person was ordering food for ten and warned me. i took the soup home and cooked some excellent mixed variety rice with it, adding a little bit of something , e.g., red curry sauce, cashews, chicken, etc., each day. at the restaurant, i ate maybe one-sixth of the beautifully presented and toothsome entree, but had some trouble getting a big enough container for the soup, and had to use two take away boxes over filled to accommodate the leftover entree. my companion's vegan gluten-free burger and fries were a more normal serving size. The service is neither good nor bad - there is no service. you order at the register, your name gets called, you pick up your tray, get your own eating utensils, and bus your own table. there is a place on the credit card chit to enter a tip, and a tip jar by the register - i ask you, what is one tipping for? i did of course. somebody needs it if they're asking for it. This was my first visit. I chose Dharma's primarily because my friend is religiously vegan gluten-free and Dharma's was conveniently close by, and secondarily because one of the chefs is a friend and i had never had one of his dishes. My chef friend's dish was vegan healthy etc., very flavorful, a very repeatable choice. Will I return? No. It's too pricey. If someone with means wants to treat me, absolutely. I'll ask my chef friend which dishes have more flavor. I'll bring my own takeaway container. And, there will definitely be an order of fries.
P.S. It's 10 days later. I've finished the entree, and have three or four more meals of tofu vegetable soup + rice + ?. Not everyone can eat Dharma's lunch for 2 weeks running and never leave one's...
Read moreMy partner and I have dined here a number of times just this year. We enjoy a couple of dishes (cornbread, vegan chili, spring rolls), and have tried a number of other dishes - most disappointing and too expensive.
Organic chips and salsa were clearly out of bags and jars. Edamame was a very small portion served with salt thrown on the top and with a single slice of lemon, most cooked and some not so much.
The worst part was Friday, August 1st. We ordered roasted potatoes. We got half-cooked, oil-drenched potatoes. We asked nicely for them to be fully roasted, and the waiter was clearly annoyed at the ask. When he brought them back, some were burnt, and others were still not fully cooked all the way through. My partner nicely asked for a refund for the item, and that's when things got really fun: Two young ladies and the man all gathered and were whispering and looking over at us. I made eye contact with one young lady after they separated, and she stared me down.
Do better Dharma's. Train your staff to be kind to your customers. Having people act like they are in middle school was unexpected and really unacceptable. Charging too much for mediocre food just to cater to those of us who eat a plant-based diet is not ok. I hope management has a chat with these rude children and they try harder in...
