Talk about fresh!!! The waffle cones were made the day we were there, and the ice cream flavor I had was made the day before with real organic ingredients (no pre-made mixes). My grandson, Finnigan,  kept saying, "it's the freshest cone I have ever had!" I decided on a scoop of Rocky Lane, and the ice cream server suggested that many people liked it with  Marshmellow Fluff on a waffle cone. So, I thought I would go with their suggestion. OMG, my mouth had a mouth orgasm-- with all of those wonderful flavors and contrasting textures in my mouth all at once!!! My older grandson enjoyed the layout of the ice cream shop and loved his scoop of Strawberry Sorbet. My 5 year grandson had a hard time keeping his scoop of ice cream off his face, but was able to eat it all without falling on the ground. He creatively used the holes in the table outside as an ice cream cone holder. Go here for scrumscious, freshly made organic ice cream--made right here in Santa Cruz, and for those crunchy waffle cones made on site. You can eat them in or out of the ice cream shop. They have restrooms in the rear of the shop to clean the hands and faces of kids of all ages--if the  ice cream eating gets on more than inside the mouth.

It is sad to give this place only 2 stars, and they are only for the fact that the ice cream was delicious. My fiancé and I arrived 20 mins prior to closing and the employee who helped us was beyond rude. I understand we came in before closing but had we known there was one down the road we definitely would have gone there just out of respect of them closing soon. But we aren’t from the area so we didn’t know. They asked us how we were and we replied and asked how they were and they proceeded to complain about how long of a day they had. Ok, that’s fine we asked you how you were. Then they did ask us if we wanted a sample but then was frustrated with us taking a minute to decide what we wanted. After we ordered, they got the order wrong and then once I finished paying they decided it was time to clean up the chairs outside, by slamming them so that I guess we would leave? Instead of sitting and enjoying the delicious ice cream. This is our first rude interaction in California, and it was quite shocking to say the least. Moral of the story: don’t go here if you never been at the end of the night because you might leave with a bad taste in your mouth and not from the ice cream.

One of my favorite ice cream shops and my absolute favor in the area. I wish they had more dairy free options, but the dark chocolate sorbet is so freaking delicious. I got the sundae but with toasted marshmallow fluff instead of whipped cream. Which I think most people don't know you can do. Sundae also comes with chocolate, caramel, cookie crumbs, and almonds but you can mix that up however you want. I love it this way and it feels so fancy. I wish the shop was bigger it can get really packed. We were there when it was windy, cold, and rainy and the line was still out the door by the time we were leaving. Because it's so small kids and super impatient adults push through people to try to look at the flavors instead of waiting their turn, so that can get a little hectic. If you order the toasted marshmallow fluff expect a lot of people to check it out because it looks so cool!
