McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Carbondale

As you can see the receipt shows some problems with this restaurant. We talked to the cashier during the order and she said that the orders were all good. Once we got the receipt the price was different and the order seemed wrong. So we talked to the cashier and she said the price was changed at the first of the year. And we are there June 20th. Yet the menu board and the menu were both different. And we also were told the fresh fruit was not part of the side of the lunch sandwich’s. And you can the price on the menu AND the price of the receipt and on the board were different.. THREE prices We were asked how the lunch was and we told “management” about the order and the price and the “management” said the same thing about the price change. I also told the “manager” that we had been waiting for our lunch for 6 minutes on the order window. It started at the 5 minute mark and my son(17yrs old) went to say something to the window “workers” but they were more concerned about the job hours and pay. And the only reason the food was delivered was because I went back to the front table and said something. And all she was able to help with the problem was a desert. This is an absolute joke of management and shadiness all around. We are from St Louis and went the Carbondale for a sports event and though we were safe for a nice lunch and as we know now we won’t be going to ANY McAlister’s and will give the advice to friends to think about it before you do.. there are too many other...

Sadly the service is what overshadowed this one. Terrible! The one thing that really stands out is a good McCallisters Sweet tea. Man it makes anyone’s day better. We go into the restaurant and made our order. The lady taking our order, told us the drinks would be ready over there. So we stepped over to the side and waited. And waited. She took 2 more orders and nothing…our food comes out. It’s just meh…and we asked for our teas again. They said oh ya! Just one second. We will bring it to you. We start eating so our food doesn’t get cold. STILL no tea. We go up and try to get someone’s attention. (The meal is literally over 3/4 eaten) the lady at the drive through says “oh you’re the ones wanting the teas- hang on” went back to the drive through and got teas for them and then FINALLY called for someone to make teas for us. I've been to McAlister in TN and KY and they were always great. I've been to this location 4 times since moving to the area and it's awful and gets worse with each visit. I would get the Memphian and all of the meat and cheese has slid off the bread and hardened before I get the sandwich. The dressings are never right and my food is always old. Today I dared to order from them again since my wife loves the food here but I should've went to Wendy's instead. I ordered a full Italian and I got 1/2 a sandwich for $12, I wanted spring mix and all dressings, but there was only meat, cheese and smothered in mustard. No mayo, olive oil or vinaigrette or veggies. 2 solid months of disappointing visits and over $75 spent on terrible food. If you really want McAlister gp to another location, this one is an embarrassment...
