We wanted to try a local diner, and after driving by and seeing a line at Harbaugh's we called ahead to Sunny Street to make sure they weren't busy and decided to try it out.
We got there before any rush, and waited as we watched another table get seated, get their drinks, and place their orders before someone stopped by to fill our coffee when they realized we didn't have cups yet.
Long story short we finally get our food an hour and a half after arriving. After our food arrived we still had to ask for silverware (I'd been just swishing my coffee mug to stir it). Our food was cold, and they offered to remake it but it was already almost lunch and the place was getting crowded, so we opted to eat our cold skillets / omelette instead.
The food looked really, really good, but my skillet just tasted like cold potatoes. They gave us our drinks (a juice & coffee) free, but honestly I can't imagine eating there again given the other local options we have. By the time we'd gotten our cold food, we could've waited in line anyplace else and probably still had our...
Read moreSo today was my first time trying Sunny Street Cafe. I’ve ordered it for someone else before and had only tried the home fries. Which were ok. So I ordered the chicken and waffles. I was already pretty skeptical on getting this due to hearing that they don’t season their food. For lack of better judgement, I decided to give it a try. The waffle itself was a 3 out of ten. It could’ve been better but had potential to be worse. On to the chicken. Where do I start..? Long story short, it was the blandest piece of chicken I have ever ate in my life. There was not a piece of love that went into preparing this. I can tell that they literally cut an unseasoned chicken breast in half, and dipped it in the bland batter they use and fried it. I would not recommend this dish to anyone. I took one bite and threw the entire chicken breast away and gave the waffle to my child. If you’re a fan of mediocre tasteless food than this is the...
Read moreWhen I moved here in May 2024 this quickly moved to the top of my FAVORITE bfast spots list. Specifically for the PB&J Time pancakes AND the service!! Today they officially literally forced me uncheck all boxes for them. I called my order in (as I usually do) I hung up feeling very apprehensive due to the personality or lack there of from the employee taking the order. Different person different personality (I get it) I get there order totally different than expected. I was met with a pretty condescending attitude from the lady that actually took the order. Long story short my food was visibly wrong I had to take it back 3 times before I got decent pancakes. Picture listed. All I wanted was PB&J Pancakes with the sauces on the side. I hope the cook was off today or something. I went 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday and got perfection. Today I got what is would call breakfast from my kids for Father's Day or...
