We ate here last year and the food and the service. This year we returned to find it had really gone down hill. The sushi quality of ingredients was excellent however the chefs need to be trained in proper rolling the rolls were falling apart. I ordered a dish I had last year that was awesome, Thai pineapple Fried rice. Last year it was full of pineapple served in half a pineapple, this year it contained only 4 small pieces of pineapple and was just thrown on a plate. I asked the waitress about this and she said that was how it was served. I sat the plate on the other side of the table as I did not want it this way. The man running the register came to the table and without my saying one word began hollering at me attacking me verbally. Telling me they always served it this way , I explained I had it last year in a pineapple and he continued hollering. I ended it by telling him I refused to argue with him and he could just take it of my bill. The other dish ordered contained shrimp that was either old or very under cooked, We did not complain about this dish as we did not wish to have yet another altercation with the very rude "owner". Upon check out I asked if he was the owner and his answer was it was family owned. Customer service is beyond poor. Such a shame to see such a good place go so bad. Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would rate this restaurant 3/5 if I am rating based on overall food offerings. I am always leary to order Sushi from a Chinese focused restaurant and I can confirm the sushi here is below average. I would rate the sushi here a 2/5. It just did not taste fresh. Do not get it. I have had a fair amount of Sushi and this ranks low. Its just not fresh enough. I did also order a Chicken and Broccoli dish and it did taste good. But it did have a little too much added corn starch then what I am use too, especially for an "elevated Asian restaurant". I might say that the Asian Cafe over by Target in Carlisle is a better option if you are looking for Chinese takeout that is inexpensive and tasty. The dinning room though at Chen's is nice if you are looking for that type of atmosphere in Carlisle and looking to dine out with a large party to try different menu offerings, then this is a decent spot. Just stay away from the Sushi. Service was 5/5. Prices were fair. I ordered three items and the bill was only $22 which is not terrible and I did receive a generous portion of chicken with my order. I wish they had Dim Sum offerings over Sushi. I think it would be a big hit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here, slow thursday night. Large portions of regular Asian cuisine. I liked the water feature at the front, the restaurant was nicely decorated.
The server very obviously did not want to serve us for whatever reason. When she approached our table we were met with "Okay, what to drink?" While other tables were met with the general greetings "Hello, how are you, what would you like to drink". She overfilled my date's water cup, and kept the pitched tilted, pouring a line of water across the table to mine, didn't offer extra napkins so we could clean it up. Beyond that she rarely came to check on us, she tossed the checkbook on the table, and when I tried to get her attention for a to-go container, she stopped, rolled her face to the ceiling and exasperatedly turned around. We weren't bothersome or rude, we didn't ask for extra anything, and we...
