My husband and I live out of town and wanted to try a Mexican buffet. It is very expensive around $15.95 and I’m sure it may have been the time of the day (5:30 pm) we came to make it taste so bad. Nothing tasted fresh and none of it was warm at all. I had to ask if they were going to bring out any more green chili enchiladas. After I asked he yelled in the back for more. I asked if the red ones were supposed to have meat and he said only cheese. I waited 15 minutes then asked again when they were coming out. He said they’re cooking. The red was corn tortilla rolled up with one tiny square of cheese in the middle and when the green ones finally came out, only tiny piece of cheese in the middle and they were cold! I usually only leave good reviews but felt like people need to know so hopefully the owners will work harder on pleasing...

Traveling thru Carlsbad, came upon this spot in the road....KEEP driving, the food looked great but was bland and warm, not hot and looking freshly made...we were the ONLY people dining, waitress was very hard to understand, and her service was horrible,.she leaned on the cashier table and played the staring game with me, meanwhile my husband put the empty chip basket on the edge of the table along with his glass needing to be refilled..and she did nothing. Wouldn't budge til she heard the bell(order up)... brought the food to the table and we had to ask for refills and more salsa...salsa never came, she asked about the tip when we paid for our order😂.. my husband said we left it on the table... We barely made it out the door before she ran to get that...

Our family enjoyed some authentic homemade Mexican food at La Regia after our trip to Guadalupe Mountain National Park. Our server (Paco) and kitchen staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome at their restaurant. The red salsa that came with the chips was deliciously spicy and all of the food we ordered was very good!! The rice & beans that came with the plates we ordered were some of the best we’ve had. The beef (carne asada) was a little too tough and had to be chewed on for a while, so was hard to eat. The food was also extremely greasy so it was delicious but difficult to finish the meal. Overall, we recommend trying out this restaurant if you live in Carlsbad or are visiting one of the many tourist...

All you can eat Mexican restaurant with additional dishes on the regular menu. Food on buffet line has a mixture of meats like pork, beef, and chicken cooked different ways. Usually 2-3 types of soups like chicken soup, menudo, and pozole, and of course your sides like rice, beans, enchiladas and Mexican spaghetti. They also have a salad and dessert bar as well. Friendly staff and definitely good food, worth a try.
