Gobong Chicken — Restaurant in Carlstadt

Friend shared a piece of chicken here with me and was impressed by the quality of the korean fried chicken and decided to take a trip myself and order a large one myself to splurge.

Chicken crust- the crispness is beyond anything i tasted. This is their specialty- oven and fried due to possibly- its excellent

Chicken sauce- ordered the spicy and i think i had better sauce. This was more sweeter than spicy for sure. I noticed alot of comments where people want spicy but this place sauce isnt spicy and i agree.

Chicken itself- i am not sure 🤔 if the pieces were too big but the boneless chicken meat was alittle dry. I remember last time being more juicy.

Freshness- it cant be fresher- seems fried at the end to order.

Was a bit skeptical of how true the reviews could be with how positive they all are, but this place genuinely has some of the best wings I’ve ever had, and I keep coming back. Seriously the DEA needs to reclassify these wings as a schedule 1 drug because they are insanely addictive, I’m back here about once a week. They’re so crispy on the outside and still juicy in the middle, and their sauces are amazing.

Personal favorites are the spicy soy garlic wings and the honey butter wings.

Had the mozzarella corn dog a few times too, never had anything like it before and I was surprised by how good it was.

Plus they have delicious boba tea, and the family who runs the place are very friendly.

while it wasn't my favorite wings I've ever had, the chicken tasted fresh and the soy garlic flavor was not too salty and greasy like some other places. for my preference, the batter should be crispy while still light but it was bit too dense. still, definitely worth trying out! happy to have found a korean chicken place nearby

the young girl who took my order was really friendly which honestly makes eating out significantly better/worth it. I appreciate kind service : )
