Truly disappointing experience here. I was seated at a nice little table near the front and was able to people watch while waiting for the food. But that was the best part of the whole thing. Before ordering, I was asked if I wanted water, plain or sparkling, and answered sparkling. It wasn't very good, only had a couple of sips. I ordered the kebab trio of chicken, shrimp and beef with peppers and onion served on rice pilaf with a puddle of hummus to one side. The shrimp and chicken were fine, as were the bits of veg and the rice. The beef was terrible! It was overcooked, dry, tough and had an off taste. The hummus was the worst I've ever had. It tasted the way it looked, like a little pool of sick. When the waiter came to ask how my meal was, I told him, politely but honestly. No effort was made to remedy this. I ate what tasted okay and left the rest. I wrote on the check when it came what my problem with the meal was, and my card was taken and charged for everything in full, $60.00. As I was leaving, an older man came to me at the door and asked how my meal was. I told him and he just stared at me like I was speaking in Martian. I took the bottle of water with me. Not because it tasted good, but because I shelled out $9.00 for it and was darned if I'd leave it behind. Don't let this happen to you. Don't...
Read moreIt was my last full day in United States. I haven’t had the chance to dine in here in Carmel, CA.
My sister and I have decided to try this restaurant because of the enticing ambiance and comfortable atmosphere.
Prices were a bit high due to its location as expected. But their food were just mediocre.
We ordered the fish & chips and burger. According to my sister, the fish and chips were one of the best she had. It doesn’t taste “too fishy” and it was seasoned well. The batter was just right. Crispy and light at the same time.
Their burger was unfortunately not that good. I have high expectations due to its price. It cost me around $27 for it. It was bland and slightly dry. I ordered it medium well, if that makes any difference. Their fries (same as the one that came with the fish and chips) were mediocre at best. It was a bit soggy and dry. It lacks flavor.
If you’re looking for a burger. Just head to In&Out. They serve a far better patty.
Also, the guy at the front was a funny dude. My sister asked him if this restaurant serves any rice options. He giggled and I commented “tell me you’re asian without actually telling me you’re asian” he was like “lol I hope we have rice, that would be awesome”
But yeah, we’ll just go back here for the fish & chips but...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant that my cousin recommended because my the prices are reasonable. We were a party of 4, 3 of us were happy with our food. The fourth person ordered the fajitas. The menu did not say that the shrimp was hot/spicy, but it was so spicy that it made my cousin’s mouth feel like it was on fire. When he asked for extra an extra tortilla to help with the spiciness, he was told they only sold they did not sell them individually, the order came with 3 tortillas. But then he was only served 2. When we mentioned the spiciness of the shrimp, the server said no spices were added to the shrimp. You could tell by just looking at the color of the shrimp that it had some condiment added. When we got the bill we were charged $3 for three tortillas. We complained that we were only given 2. The $3 was taken off the bill. The prices were reasonable, but not reasonable for food that is so spicy that you...
