TL;DR this place is great and Sanford will take good care of your knives

So I'm in town visiting friends and every time they come back to our home state they stay with me. We have this thing where we try to one up each other with thank you gifts when we stay at the others place. Normally it's just a nice dinner or something like that but I got them this time.

The last time they stayed with me we were making dinner and they just raved about my kitchen knives. Now mine are nice knives but they're nothing special. The only thing I could think at the time is theirs were dull. Lol and behold when I get down here the knives aren't just dull there are chips taken out of the edges. They looked more like the weapon a quirky protagonist uses in an anime than something that you should be using in the kitchen. Fortunately a quick Google search turned up Carmel Cutlery and when I called Sanford assured me that he could work miracles on the knives. For 20 minutes of my time and a very reasonable asking price he completely reset the edges and my friend is in the kitchen as I write this raving about how they cut like butter now. Can't say enough good things about this place. My only regret is they don't have a satellite shop back home...

Edit: Husband and I went back and had a great experience. He bought himself an amazing knife from a local smith and he uses it every day. I'll be bringing my knife in soon to be sharpened. We must have come in on an off day the first time. The person running the shop was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. There are so many good things about this little cutlery. Firstly they have a large selection of quality knives and are one of the few places that sell the legendary Gransfors Bruk axes(known as the best axes on the market), secondly their customer service is amazing. I went there with an issue with a knife that I bought mentally prepared not to get my money back but the issue was resolved extremely smoothly.
