This review is ONLY for the staff. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to stay here due to an unforeseen sickness that we couldn’t risk.

First, I want to highlight the exceptional service Fatima offered (5 stars for her!), when presented with a situation that caused a last minute cancellation. Fatima was kind, patient, and considerate with the personal details and illness that resulted in our request to rebook for a different timeframe. She was clear in setting the expectations, what the cancellation policy is, her experience with changing dates, etc. Her tone and demeanor was nothing short of a class act.

After back and forth with the general manager on how we could make this work (rebooking during the week, plus 1-2 night reservations at the restaurant on site during our stay to make up for the inconvenience) nothing made sense in terms of what would be best for the business (this is understandable - not ideal but understandable). When I thanked the manager for the call and wished him a wonderful rest of his day he did not respond but instead hung up on me. If we had had a heightened disagreement I could understand the poor behavior but our call was brief and professional. There was no reason to hang up on a customer who was being pleasant despite...

My doggies and us love this place we have stayed for few nights in the past and is lovely to see so many dogs around. Everyone is super nice and the service is great. I specially want to thank the restaurant manager and all the crew for showing us that they really love dogs and they are welcome and loved there. We had an incident at the outdoor area of the restaurant this past weekend and you guys handled beautifully. This time we only came to have lunch and We were following the waitress to get our table and as soon as we enter a woman sitting on a table told my husband that we needed to find some other table because one of my dogs was too loud. That of course broke my heart. The waitress found another table for us and few people from the crew and the manager herself came to apologize because clearly those customers did not represent what Cypress inn is well known for. Ismael our waiter brought a drink on the house and was very kind the whole time. I was sad to see that there are cruel people with zero empathy for a pup with a breathing health condition. He just needed to lay down to breath normal again but a hater is always going to hate... Anyways, thanks Cypress Inn we can't wait to...

Extremely attentive staff, petite European Charming hotel with many delightful public areas oh, such as outdoor dining patio, small bar and breakfast area. My room on the second floor was very cheery and Light, wonderful sheets and plenty of towels, some nice Gilcrest amenities. I loved the morning breakfast which is semi buffet and the staff serves you, hot scrambled eggs oatmeal's fruits pastries and good Illy coffee. The staff is extremely attentive, from housekeeping to the bar area. I so happy to have a ray of morning newspapers, hard-to-get at many hotels period. My Sleep Quality was excellent for the three nights. Also the front desk was very proactive in handling a bit of a noise situation I had with a neighbor and that impressed me. The breakfast staff offered me a teapot for my room since I would be working all day, again very proactive. And so wonderful to have bathrobes in the room!. I had to work everyday doing webinars all day but it was a delightful room to conduct my sessions and of course a location is excellent close to the main strip and not too far from the beach. You can find on metered residential parking within three blocks and so I left my car for days...

Everything about this place is a Y E S ! I was taking a mini trip with my yorkie just to get away, Carmel to San Francisco and back, I wanted a nice drive and just to decompress. I only needed one night and they have a two night policy. Well they made it work anyway! Without missing a beat they accommodated. It’s not cheap but it’s so worth it. Spend the $400-$600 a night and stay here. They are beyond dog friendly and so kind to your dog. They are known for that but it is extremely apparent in their client interactions that they embody a love of dogs. Dogs are welcomed everywhere as they should be and everything was flawless. We stayed in an adorable cottage style room off to the side near the patio and it was perfect. Details abound, cozy fireplace and huge bed, complimentary dessert liquor if you drink (which we don’t) but still a nice touch. My dog thoroughly approves and we thank you for a lovely time. We will be back for a longer stay next time! Great shops everywhere, I had no problem dropping money at every random place 🤦🏻‍♀️He got new hair bows 🎀some new toys 🧸 and the restaurant dog menus around the area are amazing!!!

This has been our favorite place to stay in Carmel for several years however we have been exploring new options in Carmel. Pros: It's dog friendly and an ideal location offering easy walking distance to the beach and all of downtown. It has a very enjoyable sitting area with fireplace indoors (sometimes with evening entertainment) as well as the attractive outdoor courtyard. Great place to enjoy a burger and fries, or Doris Day's Chicken salad. The staff is quite friendly. The cons: The restaurant vent system is noisy and often runs until 10:30-11PMPM. It can be heard in many of the front facing rooms which is a challenge for light sleepers. The main courtyard rooms also get noise from people talking in warm weather months until late evening. The restaurant menu could use an overhaul with a better, local wine selection and improved dessert options. As the room prices have increased we now expect deluxe room amenities (better towels, higher quality sheets, and soaps, more deluxe turndown service, etc).

Aging but pleasant. Old style hotel with wonderful staff and lots of patrons with friendly dogs. Don't visit this place if you're looking for the latest technologies or want to be insulated from the world. But a nice place to the stay if you're looking for a nostalgic visit. No air conditioning in most rooms, but wonderful windows that open to let in the fresh, cool, Pacific breeze. You'll hear the folks in the rooms next door and upstairs, but people were mostly considerate and quiet during our stay. The bathroom was very clean, but could definitely use some repairs and an upgrade The location is great for walking around the downtown or to the incredible white sand on the beach just a few blocks away. Parking can get difficult in the area. They have a small (9 car) parking lot just a minute walk from the front door. You'll need to call on the morning of your arrival and reserve a spot ($22 including tax).
