Have you ever wanted to stay at a hotel that would throw a party you aren’t invited to and put it right next to your window? If so, come on over to the Pine Inn in quaint and quiet Camel! You will be pleased to know that the hotel’s special event space is literally right next to your window if you are in room 9 or one of the first rooms on the left in the main building. The hotel has no AC, so you will choose between sweltering in your room with the windows closed to block out some of the sound or opening them to feel comfortable, but unable to sleep. Do ensure to bring a noise machine so you can enjoy your stay at the Pine Inn. I hope my warning helps some people because I would have never stayed at the Pine Inn had I known the hotel would throw a party right next to my window. Or that it helps people who would like something like that - no judgement. Some other things to note: - [ ] There was also a mysterious sticky fluid that saturated the carpet in front of our door. - [ ] The bath tub was so beat up they put something that looked like a door mat in it to cover it up. It was really gross to stand on.

This place does not look like much from the outside, but boy is a fancy on the inside! It was the fanciest hotel in town 100 years ago, and they kept it exactly the way it was 100 years ago. The furniture is all authentic and antique, and the rooms are in thAt period decor. I was there in early August and temperature in Carmel was 60° F. I know someone else complained about not having a/c, but he really don't need it along the coast. For less than $300 a night, it's a bargain! If you want to step back into time 100 years, spend the night at this place. It is also attached to Il Fornaio restaurant which makes it really convenient to have a great Italian meal.

Overall this is a wonderful cute boutique hotel with excellent customer service and complimentary guest parking. It's located in the heart of the shopping area and also a short walk to the beach. The rooms are very small, maybe 350sqft, but the beds are super comfy. The shower/tub is a bit outdated, but stronger water pressure and lots of hot water! The cafe next to the lobby actually has really good coffee! I would definitely stay here again, especially for a weekend getaway!

I recently traveled to Carmel for a wedding. Having traveled more than 2,000 miles to get there. I checked into my hotel around 2:00 p.m. and was told by the front desk person, Margarita, that check-in was not until 4:30 p.m. I came back a few hours later to claim my room and was given room #30 which was a 3rd floor walk-up. The stairs to the 3rd floor weren't up to code. The risers were only a foot wide, trip hazard. The hallway floors were severely unlevel. I got to my room which was located in a corner, at the end of the hallway which I felt very uncomfortable about. The first thing I noticed was there was no air conditioning, the room was musty and there was lots of street noises, garbage trucks, street sweepers, delivery trucks. My room was directly above the delivery door of the downstairs restaurant. . Called front desk and expressed my concerns to Margarita who was very dismissive. I told her that I was not happy with the room and I would be checking out in the morning. The following morning I went down to the front desk and spoke with someone else. She tod me that all the rooms were booked. However, she might be able to switch me to another room that had just become available. You go outside and across the way to another building, up 2 flights of stairs, down a hallway to a room that is approximately 8' x 8' with a full size bed. Are you serious? You had to stand at the bottom of the bed and jump in. That's just how small the room was. So your solution is I give up a 14' x 14' room with a king sized bed for this little room about the size of a doll house and I'm still paying $400 a night for that. There was no adjustment being offered for the difference in the rooms. Pine Inn is really not some place you want to stay. It's not quality. The rooms are over priced, you are not treated well by the staff. Service is poor at best. Housekeeping is very warm, friendly and accommodating. Those bitter old hags that work the front desk have no skills, no talents, whether it be customer service, communication, negotiation, they treat guest as if the guest are beneath them. Would not recommend Pine Inn to anyone. They get a big fat (-0) from me. This place will only do better if their bottom line...

Have stayed at this hotel for almost 10 years now and have never been spoken to or treated so bad ever. This is the last time I’ll ever stay here. The staff has gotten so bad and rude. The staff member was named Margarita. We spent $1,500.00 for 3 nights at this place and she speaks to us like she is doing us a favor. She was accusing us of harassing her when I asked about why would we be treated differently if we book our reservation through AMX and why would she say we paid $200.00 for a room that we paid $500.00 a night for? Also she said that people who book directly through the hotel would normally get better treatment than those who booked through a third party because they paid more. I paid $500.00 a night for a room with a TV stand with no drawers, broken window screens that don’t close, and walls that was painted over wallpaper with the seam showing and that’s supposed to be a suite. I would’ve been ok with all of that if I wasn’t so badly spoken to by Margarita. When I was speaking with her she said that she was recording the conversation with her phone. Really? She also threatened to kick us out of hotel. She even had the nerve to say that she thought we were going to beat her up. Who says that nonsense. This was basically over a EV charging space that we reserved that was given to another guest because he booked directly with the hotel. The other hotel front desk was very helpful and provided us with something at a sister hotel. When that wasn’t available after we took the car out, we asked if there is anything they can do. That was when Margarita started saying we’re doing you a favor, why are you complaining and asking for more??? Who does that? How rude is that? And you’re saying we’re harassing you and that you’re going to kick us out of the hotel???? This is the worse hotel experience I ever had and I traveled all over. It’s sad because I’ve always loved this hotel, but I will not be staying...

As soon I arrived, I had to go to front desk for check in. as soon i singed up the front desk manager asking me how did you reserve your room .
