I ordered a pizza and a gyro to be delivered. It was before 9:00 p.m. I was told delivery had stopped and I had no problem with that. I told the young lady I wanted to place an order anyways she hesitated and said it'll be 30 to 35 minutes. I said no problem I gave her my order pepperoni and mushroom pizza and a gyro. She then put me on hold and came back and told me it would be 20 minutes for pickup. I said okay. Upon arriving to the restaurant I was expecting it to be full of people and very busy. I was there 5 minutes early and surprisingly the dining room was closed. Not one customer there or in the parking lot and an employee was sweeping or mopping I'm not sure. I did not notice because I was appalled that I had to wait that long when I live 2 minutes away with them acting like they were busy. I'm not sure there was some man in the front entryway talking to the girl behind the counter. I walked up to the counter and the young lady was on her phone texting someone. After about a minute the young man states oh she's texting for her ride home she'll be with you in a moment. I am in the food service and this was absolutely unacceptable. I was lied to from the get-go it should have taken them no more than longer than cooking the pizza. I declined the receipt unfortunately which would have validated whether or not I got charged for the mushrooms. Because I did not get them. The dough was not hand-tossed. Not even fresh dough. I The food was cold and I will never return ever. I am in the food service and it was disgusting all around the food and the...
Read moreThe food was very good and this place has really great potential so I just have some constructive criticism. IT was not very busy when I came in, but it took about 30 mins to receive my order of Mac n Cheese and 2 breadsticks. The people that came in before us seemed to wait quite a while for their food as well. Not great for people on their lunch break. I think the speed issue is due to too many ingredients on the menu, there is no way their kitchen can be setup more efficiently with so many ingredients. Also, the staff was fine, but there could be a touch more friendliness and a little less joking around with each other when there is a dining room full of people. I am no stickler about people having fun at work, in fact, I prefer it, it was just obviously causing delays in bringing food out. Another tip I would have is to store the handheld menus at the front, on a little stand for people to look at while in line. As someone visiting for the first time, it was confusing that the the menu wasn't posted and I had to wait until I got to the counter to look at it, and only one side of the menu is fully visible on the counter/glass thing. After I received my food, I went up to the counter to ask for a to-go box because I needed to get back to work, and multiple people from the kitchen walked past me without acknowledging me. I waited quite a while to just get a to-go box. Greek Tony's has some great recipes and it shows that they are loved, just need some minor logistical...
Read moreSo, I recently got a job in Carmel and I am now looking for various lunch options within the area. I was headed out to get a Big Box Sub which was too far to drive for lunch when I happened to drive past Greek Tony's Pizza and SUB! I thought, let's give it a chance. Local is good right! No, Local is Fabulous! It's in a quiet strip center but there were a number of cars out front. I went inside and there is seating towards the front and on the sides with the front desk right up front. The kitchen was just behind the counter. My first impression was that this appears to have been around for quite sometime and not in a bad way. It is kinda "Old School" like a typical pizza parlor that anyone would go and hang out. I ordered the Steak Sub to go. It was a footlong which I normally don't eat as much. I looked around and there were a number of diners enjoying various dishes. The atmosphere took me back to a time long ago. The sub showed up and off I went. The price was very reasonable along with other dishes. Let me just say that the steak sub was simply Fabulous! Real steak, chunks of it and oh so tender. The bread was clearly homemade which even though they stated that fact you could tell. This was the real McCoy. Creaming melted cheese and the right amount of toppings. Highly recommend this. I plan to go back and sample the various other plates. Hopefully when I am...
