My wife and I went there recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I have to say that it was one of the best dining experiences that I've ever had. We each had steaks, a filet for my wife and the ribeye for me. Mine was as good as any steak I've ever had. It was a great piece of meat that was perfectly cooked. The sides I tried were the parmesan risotto and the chef's vegetables. My risotto was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. My wife opted for the garlic mashed potatoes and the asparagus which she said were delicious.
The only thing better than the meal was the service we got from Allen. He was very polite (not overly so), knowledgeable and funny. When my wife asked him about some of the wines from the list he answered the questions that he could and then went to check with bartender about one particular wine that he wasn't very familiar with. He came back with not only answers to her questions but with several samples as well.
When it came time for dessert Allen did a great job of sharing with us which choices were his favorites as well as which ones other guests liked most. I opted for some sort of chocolate masterpiece that has garnished with hazlenuts and sea salt. Allen told me that it was a dish that would ruin all other chocolates for me and he wasn't lying. It was delicious. At one point my wife asked how it was and I told her to give me a second because the dessert and I were sharing a moment together. My wife went with the bread pudding which we had both had previously and she stated that it was as good as ever.
I can't say enough how wonderful our experience was. I would highly recommend Stone Creek to anyone who is looking for great food and a great...
Read moreI want to start by saying the food we had was very good, which is the only reason why I'm giving this three stars. However, the overall dining experience was disappointing. My wife and I went here for her birthday dinner. We have small kids and don't get a lot of date nights, so we wanted a nicer restaurant that was still nearby. We'd been wanting to try Stone Creek for a while because we'd heard good things about it. We intentionally arrived about 45 minutes before our reservation to have a cocktail at the bar. Our drinks were tasty, everything was fine up to that point.
Our reservation time comes, they come get us and walk us to our table...which is about 30 feet away in the bar area. My wife and I were both dumbfounded. I can't recall every being seated in a bar area without first being asked if that was ok. I don't know what the point is of having reservations if they were just planning on sitting us at the bar. Most of the time, we'd be fine with eating in the bar area, but on this night we were specifically hoping to have a nice, adult meal. Being in a noisy bar area with college football games on the TV 20 feet away (and under a cold vent) is NOT what she had in mind for her birthday.
The service was also subpar. The waitress was friendly, but it took her a while to get the bread to our table, and she also forgot to put in our appetizer order. They did give that to us for free and put it in a box to take home, but it was still not a positive dining experience.
Again, all of our food was very good to excellent, so most people will probably have better service experiences than us. We won't be going back for a while (if...
Read moreWe came from out of town to have dinner with some family and our experience was not the best. Honestly, the only reason I gave two stars was for the hostess that was very pleasant to me on the phone (I called to make sure they were open, because the other restaurant we thought about going to was closed) and in person once we arrived.
The service wasn’t the greatest either, because we barely saw our server and it took forever to order anything, whether it was drinks or our food. Once we ordered our food, the experience went from bad to worse.
I ordered filet medallions with lobster risotto and another person in my party ordered the sirloin. As soon as we cut into our steaks, they were cooked horribly wrong. Both of us ordered our steaks medium well and they came out rare/medium rare. Once we finally were able to tell our server, he took them back to the kitchen where the chef supposedly cooked them longer, however that wasn’t the case. They came back out still the same. I didn’t send mine back again, but my family member sent hers back again, where they finally cooked it well done since the chef wasn’t cooking it medium well. By that time, the steak was dry but she ate it.
It wasn’t worth the money spent just to be disappointed by the whole experience. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant to...
