I've never done dine-in here but the atmosphere seems nice enough whenever I come to pick up my order. The food is decent and the menu has a great selection, especially if you're vegetarian. Can sub in tofu in pretty much any dish. Overall my biggest complaint is that the pricing is a bit high, ~10$ for each app and $17-$20 for each entree. It feels like you're paying a bit more for the atmosphere and the neighborhood than the actual food quality as I've gotten very comparable Thai food from hole in the wall type places for quite a bit less.
I'm hoping this isn't the norm but I had a bad delivery experience last night--didn't realize they outsource it to DoorDash after ordering on their website. Was an extra $7 for delivery fee plus a $1.50 "service fee" plus a $5 tip to driver. Overall it took 1hr and 20m to get my food after the ETA initially said it would take 30m.
If you're not price sensitive then I would say dine in and enjoy as the quality is there. But definitely not the best value Thai food...
Read moreWhat a delight! This is now one of my two favorite Thai spots. Light-filled, sparkling clean, modern space. Our server was warm, helpful and attentive. Menu offers a wider variety than many but is simplified for ease of ordering, including making (nearly) everything vegetarian. Lots of hot tea options, but the Chrysanthemum was perfect! And hot, just like the food. Often, when I (sadly) reduce the spice level, the flavor vanishes. Not here! Papaya salad - fantastic, complex flavors. Side of fried rice. Chef's kiss. Panang curry one of best we've ever had. Everyone at table super happy! Can't wait to return to try things I've never had. My favorite gem? Hearing from the back of the cafe, "Goodbye. thanks for coming in! See you next time!" as we headed out the front door. We waved back - and they shall...
Read moreAfter spending 40 days backpacking across Thailand, and falling in love with the khao soi of northern Thailand, I’ve been on a mission to find a Thai restaurant in the States that truly tastes like the real thing. My search has finally ended in Indianapolis. This is the one.
The moment I tasted their khao soi, I was taken back to a food stall in Chiang Mai—it's an exceptionally authentic taste of northern Thailand. Every dish on the menu is just as good, proving that you don't need a passport to experience the best of Thai cuisine. While a few places in Seattle came close, nothing has matched the quality of the food here.
Hands down, this is the most authentic Thai food I've found outside of Thailand itself. If you only eat at one Thai restaurant in Indianapolis, make...
