I order 3 items from Raya’s for the first time tonight. Awful!!! My calzone dough was raw and the breaded mushrooms were soggy. My kids wouldn’t even eat the pizza after tasting it. How can you mess up pizza? It taste like they dumped canned spaghettini sauce on the pizza and the crust on this item was like cardboard. I took videos and pictures the food to show everyone in my neighborhood at the next annual meeting. I will be sure to post on social media and on our two community pages so nobody else has to suffer. Also, the manager was completely rude and would not come back to get the food and/or apply a refund for the raw portion. He replied and told me to bring it back to them with attitude. The point of the “delivery” is not to drive after coming home from the hospital. The delivery driver was nice and I tipped him (not his fault). They can learn from this experience to make it better, but instead he decided to get nasty and basically said that my child won’t get sick from the raw dough, because the oven was 500 degrees. Excuses excuses they need to be accountable. I also tried feeding the pizza to my dog since my family didn’t like it and even my dog wouldn’t eat it! I didn’t want a replacement item for the next time, because there will not be a next time. I will continue to support local business that take accountability for their mistake and delivery with promised expectations. My husband is going to put this experience at this place in his next book. Accountability!

Raya's Pizza GOOD: Solid neighborhood business. The pizza, wings and hoagie were very good. BAD: Overpriced condiments and messy take out prep - no impact on food quality. Raya's was a nice surprise. As an out of town visiter (born and raised near philly) I am picky with pizza quality. Raya's delivered, the first thing that stands out is a perfect, stiff crust. The sauce is very flavorful. A pinch more salt in the cheese - then solid A. The wings are tender, juicy and the garlic parm sauce was very good. The Gyro hoagie had tasty meat and feta. The toasted roll was great. I had to knock 1 star on a collection of things. The sauces for 1.50 - customers expect a dip with wings. At 1.50 it feels more like a premium pizza topping and I can buy a small bottle of ranch for 1.99. Include one sauce and raise your price 25 cents? Messy prep for take out - all the food was delicious, but the wing sauce got everywhere. It leaked right though tissue paper, the box AND the bag. Line the boxes with foil - big savor. The hoagie tasted great, but rather than a total slice through, creating two halves (where toppings fall out hard core) deep slice the side and stuff the roll. It acts to hold the toppings - Eastern PA Wawa trick. I would definitely order from Raya's again, either way.

So today I decided to order with the other women I work with and whenever I received my 1st hoagie it was supposed to be steak and cheese only. I called and told the guy that answered the phone and he was extremely rude. I asked for my money back and he stated that there were no returns, but could make me a new one. When I came to get the one in the photo it was burnt and barley any steak what so ever and the guy at the front needs fired! Very unprofessional and rude! I will NEVER EVER order from this place again and I will be contacting the owner of this establishment to let them know! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY! My biggest complaint is how the guy handled it and how unprofessional and rude he was! Do better….It takes 0 effort to be kind! AND whenever you mess up on the order fix it right! Make it right to where people want to come back instead of pushing them away then you lose business! UPDATE! It was the Owner of the establishment that is treating people this way! I’m literally lost for words! As a owner you need to do better man… WOW blown away at this point…..

(5/3/25) I don't know how you justify what you're saying. My family and I left there and we did not enjoy the food. You did state that the recipes are the same. That's hard to believe when the food tastes so different.. I'm not trying to hurt a small business by any means. I'm simply stating a fact. The food does not taste the same. The pizza is much thinner, it's less dough. Same with the breadsticks....

(UPDATE: 4/25/25 I've been meaning to this update since last week. The last few times, I've been in this restaurant it has gone downhill. I am truly heartbroken to say this.

"This used to be my go-to pizza"

Now, Well I'm really sad to say this. I would hate to do this.... But I speak the truth..

It seems to me that there is certainly a lot of shrinkage going on in this business.

The breadsticks well just hardly any garlic on them also any cheese and hardly any breadstick...

Pizza, Well honestly the sauce does not taste the same not even close to what it used to. After a couple of purchases. There's no mishap on how the food is prepared anymore. "It actually does not taste like it used to, Not even close"

Apparently it's not a mishap. I'm not trying to come off disrespectful.. This pizza was truly the best in Pittsburgh, when it was being made the way it was a few years back.

Now after a few times in there I can clearly say there's no mishap. The hoagies BAD The breadsticks BAD

There's less dough on the pizza It's nowhere near thicker like it used to be It's so thin...

Raya's pizzeria is no longer what it used to be.😭

If you happen to be looking for their original tastes..?? I don't recommend it...

Always a pleasure, to dine in or take out at this fine establishment. I had a review up here years back but apparently it was taken off for some reason Google go figure....

👍 I highly recommend this pizza...

What a disappointment! I call and order (to pick up) 1/2 of a steak hoagie and fries. Would have been $14.98 but I had a birthday coupon to use. Thank God with the coupon I only paid $2.98 for the order. Gave a $2 tip. Had I known my food we be so awful I wouldn't have tipped. It wasn't like they were busy. The bun was toasted darkly and the toppings (onion, green pepper) were not spread out but in the center of the hoagie. They should be ashamed to sell a side of fries for $6. They were limp and warm. It was 8:30 when I placed my order so they more than likely gave me fries that had been sitting for awhile. Rayas you once were very good but in the past couple of years your food has really gone downhill. It'll be a long time or if I ever order from you again. The guys working should be ashamed of themselves for not putting out quality food. Take some pride in what you do. I've worked in the restaurant business for years and if I wouldnt eat it, I wouldn't serve it. I believe someone in the family was running the kitchen quite a while back but I never see his car anymore so I take it he moved on. What a shame he's no longer there. It was consistent great pizza, hoagies and wedgies. Not anymore.

This is in response to the owner's reply to my review of food purchased on 1/30/25. I beg to differ about consistency. It all depends on who cooks. I've worked in a couple of diners and if I wouldn't eat it then I'm not serving it. For example, the french fries look old and limpy then ypu make new fries. If you thought the food in my order was consistent and that you pride yourself in what you make and serve then maybe you need to get an eye exam. Also, if you're so concerned with negative reviews then sell food that not only looks good but tastes good too. We obviously have different versions of what "pride" is or you would make sure that every order is...
