This was our first visit to Baba's. We drove past it and wondered about it, so I looked at up on Google. We were surprised that we were unaware of them when there are so many in the Chicagoland area. We appreciate that such a large menu gives us lots of choice, but we are skeptical of a restaurant that tries to offers too much, especially when they are making food from so many different cultures. We visited on Friday, January 21st and at that time you could not order through the drive through (the board with their menu was not installed yet), but we called in our order and we did pick it up at the window. The person that took our order and those delivering the food to us were very pleasant and helpful. Because of that and because it was only our first visit, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and giving them 4 starts instead of 3. We found that the food was OK, but not great. We tried the Spicy Chicken sandwich, Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, VIP Philly sandwich and a Pick Two which included Catfish Nuggets and Shrimp Basket. We also ordered a Cherry Pineapple Lemonade. We would go back, but we are not in a hurry. The spicy chicken sandwich patty was the kind that you could buy frozen at the grocery store, but the spice level was good. I thought maybe the Philly cheese steak sandwich might be really good because that seems to be what they are known for. It was good, but not something I will crave. My husband really liked all the different flavors of the VIP Philly. The catfish was good and I like that it is something you can't get other places. We want to try the other fish choices next time. The shrimp were not anything special. Maybe the jumbo shrimp are better. The lemonade had good flavor, but I did not get any lemonade flavor. I expected the lemon flavor to be there as well as the other two flavors. The French fries which came with all of our choices were good, but definitely needed salt and although we ate some as soon as we picked them up they were not hot and they were kind of limp when we got them. We got some containers of what looks like seasoned salt and assume that it was for the fries. When we got home we crisped them up in the oven and I put ketchup on mine. Then they were very good. My husband liked the seasoning on them. We also got a spicy red sauce (maybe for the shrimp) and some packets of tartar sauce. Overall the things we liked were the good service, and some of the food. Much of the food we could get by buying good quality frozen food at the grocery store and making it at home for less than the restaurant prices we paid at Baba's. We would like to be able to order sandwiches without having to order fries. They give you a huge amount of fries with each order. We will come back, but only when we want something quick that we don't have to make...

Read moreI’ve been coming to Baba’s in Carol Stream over and over again, and every single visit just gets better. I started off with the wings—crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor—and thought it couldn’t get any better. Then I tried the burger. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and stacked just right. Still craving more, I came back and grabbed the chicken sandwich—crispy outside, tender inside, and that signature Baba’s flavor that keeps you hooked.
On my next visits, I went for the gyros and Italian beef. Both were incredible—the gyros were fresh and loaded, and the beef had that classic Chicago flavor that hits the spot. Most recently, I gave the fish a try and once again, Baba’s delivered—crispy, golden, and full of flavor.
Every time I try something new from the menu, I leave more fulfilled than the time before. This place isn’t just consistent—it somehow keeps topping itself. Great food, great portions, great prices. Baba’s is easily one of the best food spots in the area. I’ll keep coming back until I’ve...
