I visited Nollie’s restaurant for the first time on January 8, 2022. My visit to the restaurant was delayed because of long lines every time I stopped there to eat. Tourists have a way of dominating restaurants when they visit us. I called before I stopped just to be sure I wouldn’t have to eat on the patio in 37-degree weather. Malinda, the manager on duty, assured me that she had tables inside. I got to the restaurant and was surprised how small it is, explaining the long waits, and by the décor. The place is covered with skateboards, all kinds, all sizes and a great variety of graphics. Apparently, the restaurant owner, Mr. E.J. Griffen, is a big-time skate boarder and loves to collect boards and show them off. He does it well indeed. The menu at this little gem of a restaurant is extensive. There is something for everyone, even the kids. I ordered the Guacamole, Queso with chips and a variety of tacos. After all, shouldn’t stop at Nollie’s Tacos without having tacos! The food quality was excellent. The food was fresh hot and served in an environmentally conscious way. Malinda did a great job serving and made my experience just that much better. The $2.00 Pabst Blue Ribbon was a bonus! The food quality and service certainly demand that Nollie’ Tacos should be a restaurant stop for everyone. A note to the locals: It is worth the wait to get in. I had a chance to talk with the manager and ask about the issues many restaurants are facing. She told me the restaurant has fared very well in large part because of the great work environment and employee focused approach Mr. Griffen takes in managing his business. I normally don’t write about these kinds of situations in my reviews simply because I don’t hear about them. Most of the managers I observe are careless in how they treat their employees. Mr. Griffen clearly understands the importance of his employees, he values them and treats them with great respect. He generosity and concern for his team is why he can maintain so many quality employees. I can recommend this restaurant as a great place to eat and, if you are job searching, a great place to work.

Read moreok , so this ones hard for me because I truly liked the food
the place is small ,so we sat outside on a tiny deck area on a warm breezy overcast day ....it has a chill vibe .
our server, who may have been the owner I dunno, felt that way, was nice enough ...
my wife ordered a burrito.. it was average, nothing special, didn't weigh 4lbs , was very edible, she added nothing extra to it , and had no sides.
I had 2 ( repeat 2 ) soft tacos on small tortillas ... the chicken and the pork were delicious .. but here's where my review goes pear shaped but honest... EVERYTHING in those tacos basically was ala cart , guacamole 2.00 each exta, queso extra , sour cream extra , by the time it was done these were 2 most expensive tacos ive had in my life and her burrito was like $17.00 .. thats more then you pay in the Hamptons or Siesta Key ... i know , been to both many times as a working class guy in the trades.
I had a sprite in a bottle, she had a on " special " $10 pina colada in a cup like an average red solo that wasn't anything to rave about ... again we had no chips or sides ect .. 2 tacos , 1 burrito, a sprite and a " special bar drink , just under $60.00 ..ooofff
I feel like people post cov 19 are just charging whatever they can get up until people just start walking away .. the food WAS good , but nothing we ate was worth $60.00 in comparison the following night we went to Texas Roadhouse . I got a great steak, loaded sweet potato , salad , steamed veggies n sweet tea , wife got basically the same ..and we were right at 60.00 pre tip . The night after at a seafood place in Kure .. i had a diff cut of steak , a loaded baked potato ,top shelf bar drink and a sprite , steamed veggies , she had a huge calamari appetizer , bar drink , pepsi , broiled scallops , 1 side and an extra side. .. $99.00 these are both in your market area.. 1 just a few doors down .. just food...
Read moreVisited this place on our beach trip with a friend and it was an underwhelming experience. Yes, the place looks nice and the food may look presentable from other reviews but it felt like a huge scam. First of all, it took an hour for us to get our orders for two tacos each for both my friend and I. We got chips and guacamole as our entrées, or what was supposed to be guacamole because it had NO flavour whatsoever! It tasted fresh but not even a pinch of salt, pepper or anything else. The tortilla chips had this slight sweetness to them as if sprinkled with sugar which left us surprised. Never seen this before. When the tacos finally arrived, they were served on a flour tortilla! These tacos were the most whitewhashed version of tacos I have ever seen in my life. True, I didn’t expect authentic genuine tacos but at least put some effort! Nothing outstanding from these tacos even when compared to tacos made at a school cafeteria. Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh which is nice to see but then again besides this, nothing good to compliment. Barely any seasoning on them as well. For $6 tacos each this was disappointing. I heard complaints as well from other customers sitting near us which confirmed that it wasn’t just us feeling the same way. In short, this place is unorganized, will not prioritize your orders, and the food needs some work especially...
