Wow, the pizza here is so good! I didn't really want to try a pizza during my time in PR, since I prefer to try new types of food when I travel, but I was sort of forced into this place by the rain. I'm so glad it happened! Not only is the specialty pizza great, it's also unique, unlike anything I've had on the mainland. The crust tastes like a perfect Italian bread, crisp outside and fluffy rise with basil/oregano/olive oil as the base flavor, rather than a red sauce. Instead it has thin-cut, fresh tomato slices where the sauce layer would normally be. It's the best elements of a flat bread Marg and fluffy pan pizza all in one, and not greasy or soggy like Americanized pizzas. The flavor profile is also unique; the Argentinian chorizo and chimichurri are not what I'm used to on a pizza, but are delicious and complementary of the other flavors.
Also, the Argentinian "sweetbread" appetizer is neither sweet nor bread. It's fried cow gizzard with lime wedges, so I did get to try something completely new. (And, yes, the staff was nice enough to warn me.) It was...
Read moreWe ate our very first meal in PR here and they definitely did not disappoint! The owner Nestor is so kind and welcoming. Argentinian food with a Puerto Rican twist. We ordered the Panperri pizza which was delicious! Also tried the chorizo and then the spinach and bacon empanadillas which were the best thing ever. Finished off with yummy churros. Our server Gabo was so friendly, personable, and very fun to talk with. We left here with full bellies and feeling like family. The price is right, food is great, and service is amazing. We will definitely be returning for more empanadillas soon!
Edited to add- we ate our last meal in PR here also because it was one of our favorite meals while on vacation. Chelsea was our server, she was so friendly and explained things on the menu wonderfully. We tried the lasagna with Alfredo sauce this time, omg so good! And I had to order the spinach and bacon empanadillas one more time! I couldn’t finish them but warmed them back up for breakfast the next morning 😋😋 definitely give this...
Read moreArgentinian Pizza? Sure, we're in Puerto Rico. But we have to try it, right?
And we did. We did try it. It was a random decision, but absolutely no regrets. The pizza was unique, but it was really delicious.
We started with appetizers. After having it, the Argentinian sampler is definitely a recommendation. Our family of four were able to try the empanadas, chorizo, and focaccia bread. I've had better focaccia before, but paired with the chimichurri, it was pretty good.
The real star, though, was Pamperi Pizza! Unique flavors. Nearly perfect crust. And tasted just as good cold the next day - which is the true test of a pizza.
The night we went, we were the only non-locals. The staff was super friendly, and checked in with us regularly. They even gave us some "tips" for making the most out of our time.
A fun, quite spot with a...
