First few times I went to this place, it was really good. But, lately the kitchen has been extremely slow in getting the plates out to the customers. Twice on a Sunday, I have gone with a group of 5 to 6 people. On the first occasion, everyone's dinner was brought out except for one. Then they were brought the wrong pizza! It was left on the table (as a freebie) for the person who had nothing to eat. After 5 to 10 minutes later, the pizza they ordered was put on table. We were nearly finished but of course waited on our friend to eat. Two Sundays later, 6 of us met up again at the restaurant. This time four of our pizzas were brought to the table. Two of our friends, who both ordered pasta dishes did not get their dinners with the rest of us. We waited to eat for several minutes, waiting until the rest of the table was served. Finally, I shared part of my pizza with the person closest to me at the table. The two people finally got their dishes, even as most of us were finished with dinner. Both of these people noticed that their dinners looked as though they were left in the microwave too long. Definitely not freshly prepared. The beer wall is basically pointless, as most of the time the kegs are empty or pour out so much foam it just isn't worth it. Considering how expensive it is to "eat out" these days the general consensus at the table was that we probably won't be back in. To spend around $20.00 each is ridiculous when we can't even be served at the same time. And certainly don't expect microwaved dishes. I must also say that on both occasions it was not the server's fault for these screw ups. It strictly falls on the...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I love this pizza! But the manager needs to step it up and hire more workers. We have ordered at the bar twice and both times took OVER an hour to hour n half to get our cold pizzas that had been sitting next to the register. I have worked in pizza places and in bars and I know how easy it is to get distracted. The bar scene makes more money so of course the bartender will ignore you if your asking on the progress of your order. I tried to ask if the pizzas were ours and was told “hold please.” When in fact she didn’t get back to me. We then moved from her line of sight at the bar to the cooks line. I hate being like this but for $26 an hour or two is too much of a wait. The pizza is amazing but it doesn’t make up for the fact that it’s bad customer service.
See we get it, it’s busy. So when we order we tell her where we are sitting so she can give them to us immediately. This never happens. I have to keep bothering the red head bartender and she is upset because she’s the only bartender. The only way we have been able to get our food in under two hours is for me to be on top of if a pizza has been dropped near the register. Unfortunately delivery isn’t a great option either. Last time they didn’t even deliver it and we had to again to to the bar and wait for said pizza. Please call the owner and let them know this is got to stop. Or there will be no more customers. People want to warm food and friendly service and that is not what you get when you go to Leopolds in...
Read moreLeopoldo's has been a Square staple for several years now and is among my favorite spots. Currently, they have an excellent bartender named Mrs. Chyna. She's been the best bartender Leopoldo's has had since the departure of Mr. Keith, who was perhaps the greatest bartender the Square has had in 15 years. The food here is generally top-notch as well. The only area I believe Leopoldo's can improve is with its staff. A bartender or two over the years might plop a can down in front of me without asking if I'd like a glass, or would be more concerned with their cell phone or boyfriend while I'd wait with an empty glass for the majority of my brief stay (I can understand if a party lingers for over 45 minutes, but I have never lingered for this long). Sometimes the impression one is an inconvenience during slow periods can't be avoided, but I note this sporadic deficiency because my empathy for similarly employed people of my age range is very high; it takes a certain level of disinterest or self-absorption to feel as though my presence is especially unwelcome. I can say that the staff present during times like these would rarely last longer than a semester or two. I've refrained from stopping by during these hit-or-miss periods of subpar staff. I rate Leopoldo's very highly for its current bartender, the consistency of the food and drink, and their overall cleanliness. Also, for Friday and Saturday night sports, Leopoldo's is usually a safer bet...
