This place is half hibachi grill, half sushi bar. My review is solely of the sushi side, which has been a fantastic experience each time. I promise I'll try the hibachi side... next time. It was pretty busy when we arrived, and most were families for the hibachi side. The hostess was also our server so she was really working the whole floor and doing so with a pleasant energy & smile (you could easily tell, even under her mask). After selecting multiple items from multiple menus, while still contemplating the ramifications of ordering more, a gentleman stopped by with our drinks. Nigori and Sapporo, party started! 🥳 I think we were the most lively table in there, but it is a nice atmosphere... even without us there. We laughed & joked with the staff, and then our house salads arrived, gifting the other diners with a few moments of silence while we chewed & moaned like cattle grazing. Next time, I will order two house salads for myself. Appetizers for the evening included the Monkey Ball, an absolute go to favorite. So. Good. We also got fried Goyza, chicken yakitori, shrimp yakitori. All were amazing...pro tip; don't neglect the sauce that drips off the yakitori & hangs out on the plate. 👍 We finished off with the Sunset roll, which was good...kinda vanilla. The Texas Ranger Roll came to bat though & knocked it out of the park. Round the bases, and bring it home! Damn, that's a good roll. Little spice, lots of flavor. A great dining experience, made even better when our server brought us a farewell shot each of Nigori, which cements my opinion of her awesomeness. Great time, every time here at Masu. UPDATE: Today on a return visit, everything was still amazing as usual. However, we again ordered the sunset roll & this time it had a good amount of spice & was rather good compared to the previous visit. We also ordered the paradise roll & this paid with the sunset roll was an absolute flavor bomb. Nice heat from the sunset roll is excellently complimented by the mango on the paradise roll. It was a fantastic combo... even if you don't really like spicy, the combo of the two is enough to tamper down the heat & just lay the flavor on you...so good.

3 star because of my experience in relation to other hibachi spots I'm used to.. First thing is, you need to book a reservation prior to avoid long wait time. It was a pretty good experience but I have had better hibachi experience. Our chef was quiet all through the process and we were 10 people in total including children. Part of the hibachi experience is the fun of watching the chef, and the chef interaction. He was probably tired but yeah he took away from the whole experience. The food was good but he served it disproportionately. Some people had way too much than others. Given that I have had much better experiences at other hibachi places, I was quite disappointed. Also, I ordered a Pina colada and they forgot to bring it. Had to order again. The waiter tried to cram most of our orders, given that we were many, he could have just had a pen and paper to write them down. I have been a waiter before and I can understand how overwhelming it can be to serve a large group, so I forgive his oversight. Well, they gave my friend a cheese cake because it was her birthday. I loved the

Let me start by saying the food was great, the service was horrible!!!! I Took my daughter and two grandchildren (2,3) we were taken to a grill and believe me when I say we were there 35 mi I gofrom beginning to when we walked out. The waiter took our drink order and we never seen him again until he brought bill. No drinks were refilled (back to this in moment) so the chef came to cook our food and we thought do a show…no…. One little fire when he cleaned the grill and an onion volcano. THATS ITS! My grandkids watched other tables. Our rolls did not even make it to our table until we we’re almost finished with our meal. So now back to my problem and the waiter….. I have no problem paying prices for good food, however I do have a problem when I see my ticket and they had added a $23 gratuity. I tip for the service I receive everyplace I go, I GUESS WHEN YOU AUTOMATICALLY ARE GOO G TO ADD IT TO THE TICKET, YOU DONT HAVE TO CHECK ON YOUR CUSTOMERS. And by the way, my grandkids ate rice off our plates and my bill was $145.00 dollars.

An update: I got a mild case of food poisoning from the sushi I brought home. I should have known when I found it was luke warm. That is my mistake. I gave it three stars mainly for the Habachi, but it is now one. (If only Zero stars were possible.) :-( This is a good place to go for Habachi, but a bad place to go for sushi. Restaurant is not that clean. The sushi has great presentation, but the taste is off. Another local guide described it (ironically) as "fishy". They are right on target. Yes, it is seafood, but good quality sushi should not taste extremely fishy. The to go order I placed took half an hour to receive and it was warm. The sushi was bland. I agree with everyone else, this place is way overpriced for the atmosphere and quality of food. I ordered an ahi tower and a basic sushi roll. It was $32 before a tip. Save some money and get better quality sushi (if that is what you are after) and go to Naan Sushi in the Shops at Legacy or SushiGo off of Old Denton Road and Hebron Pkwy. Those are my twofavourites.
