Came in a little after 5 on Sunday after a long day at work. The parking lot, while semi-hectic, provided plenty of space and ease of parking.
When you approach the building, which I thinking recall wheelchair accessible ramps, there are two doors due to it being a corner place. Take the right door and go down the hall on the left, this was probably the only thing that threw me off for a split second but when you go thru the other door inside you are greeted immediately and sat.
The service, impeccable. Drinks were dropped off quickly and remained topped off with ever needing to worry about getting too low. These people were reading my mind and anticipating every need before I knew I needed it.
You are given your drinks and are served chips with a couple choices which I didn't expect and let me tell you, that black bean dip they serve alongside their salsa was God-Tier. The salsa itself also slapped. Very nice thickness to it, ot runny, plenty of spices you can see in it. Very good stuff. I need to mention that the chips were HOT and fresh every single refill. We ended up getting a bowl of Queso as well just because the other dips went so hard, the queso had to follow suit. Tbh, the black bean dip outshined both the salsa and queso. I need that stuff in my fridge.
When the food did come out which didn't take long, we received our Beef Chimichanga and Beef Quesadilla. I want to say that this was probably in regard to consistency and seasonings one of the largest burritos I've seen outside exaggerated/challenge menu items. Extremely delicious, and the rice/beans that came with it we're both cooked to perfection regarding the texture.
The beef quesadilla, like the black bean dip, immediately became one of my new staple comfort foods. I think they actually put some of that dip in the quesadilla itself and I wanted to cry tears of joy, especially as I was being topped off on everything.
The servers and bussers were very kind and attentive from start to finish. We grabbed our meal to go as we have so much left due to stuffing our faces on that addictive set of chips/dips they have.
I sincerely hope everyone here is financially well and happy. I wish them nothing but success and recommend this place to anyone wanting some delicious...
Read moreI haven't been here in ages, as I moved from the area years ago, and just happened to be in town today. I had to see if they were still in business, and lucky for us, they were. This is a family run, "hole-in-the-wall" joint, but I mean that in the nicest way. At some point since my last visit, they remodeled, and the place looks pretty nice!
We ordered the guacamole and chicken and cheese stuffed jalapeño peppers to start. Guacamole is made to order, nice and fresh, and it's a large serving. The peppers are great...loads of flavor. But we could only eat one pepper each because they're so big, and we had to save room!
Hubby ordered his favorite here, the beef fajita chimichanga with queso, with rice and beans. It's a monster! And so good. (I usually steal a bite.) I can't remember if I've ever ordered their fajitas, but I'd venture a guess that at least the beef fajitas are great based on the chimichanga filling.
Now here's where it gets really good - my order. I ordered the "Cancun" - two shrimp enchiladas with sour cream sauce, with a chicken taco al carbon, and rice and beans. (but I did ask to sub for a beef taco instead of chicken.) This is my favorite order here. Have you ever had really good Alfredo sauce? Thick, and rich, and super creamy? That's how this sour cream sauce is. It is just.... I don't know... amazing! I think if I'm able to get back to the restaurant any time soon I'll see if I can order extra sauce and pour it over my rice and beans, too. I have leftovers, but I know I won't be satisfied. I'm going to be thinking about that sauce for ages. It is glorious, ladies and gentlemen.
Even with the great food, the prices are quite reasonable. (Chimichanga was $13, shrimp enchiladas were $14) They have have drink specials, but can make a mean margarita if you know what to ask for. The staff, all of them, are always very friendly and helpful. I love this place and wish I still lived around the...
Read moreThe idea of a Mexican buffet is always appealing; so once we found Nico's through a Google Search, we decided to go. The location alone is crowded. Just finding a parking space at 11:30am on a Sunday was a bit surprising (it's in a shopping strip). The inside of the restaurant is cool. I like the outdoors patio area with the playground for the kids. I thought that was a nice surprise. Inside, it is small, especially to be having a buffet. There is ZERO order to the buffet, so people were going different directions and it got frustrating very quickly. SUGGESTION 1: set up something to create a one direction order. SUGGESTION 2: LABEL THE FOOD! I don't want to have to guess what I'm eating. SUGGESTION 3: The glass hood over the buffet also needs to be cleaned. It was hard to see how the food looked without having to duck down under the hood. Little changes like this would make a great difference!
The food itself was okay. It was a Mexican brunch buffet, so there was some breakfast foods such as an omelet bar and waffles. Most of the foods were non-breakfast. My favorite was the taco bar. Out of everything I tried, the tacos were the tastiest. There were also $1.00 mimosas. Also, we enjoyed a cup of coffee because it was cold. They make tasty coffee.
The service was nice. We had to wait for a few minutes, and everyone was accommodating during the wait and after we sat to eat.
Would I go back? I would, but only at the beginning of the brunch hour because at the peak times, it is MAD crowded. I would like to visit on a...
