I would have loved to experience the place. Walked in because it looked nice from the outside and it was promoting that it is "Now Open"...unfortunately, the staff ruined the experience.

I walked in and without out even getting eye contact, I just stood there, reading the wall on what Poke means. It wasn't busy. Only two people were sitting in the whole place. I was ready to leave after nothing was said from the staff behind the counter/register. Apparently the device in her hand was more important than the customer.
I stood in front of the counter, told her that I never seen the place, was interested in the restaurant, how I thought it looked great, but wanted to know more about what they served, I ended with asking, "...so, is it all salads?"
With about 4 seconds of silence, all I got was a marginal glancing look with a, "what?"
I should have left then, but we all have "off" days, so I repeated myself.
Still more uninspiring talk about how they just have "rice bowls" and "salad bowls" and I "can pick from the menu." Noting about what or how it is served or the restaurant, or anything else that I asked about the place.
"Of what? Sushi bowls? What do...?"
"Whaaaaat evvvveeeerrr you want. See the menu. The pictures on the screen."
"oh ok, I'll figure it out."...and then I left. What was the point of staying and getting subpar interactions? I could only think that the food would be the same.
Not sorry Below 40º, because this is on you and your service. It will be a while before I come back in or recommend to others. If I happen to come back and see the same person at the counter greeting...I'm just going to turn around and take my...
Read moreThe best thing about this experience is the wonder older woman who took our order at the front. She was so sweet and patient for it to be our first time coming. I love poke. I have been to several in Dallas. We came to get two bowls to-go for dinner since we were in the area and I should have known as soon as I walked in something would be off. I personally have never been to a poke place that did not make the bowl in front of you. There was a counter and a wall that blocked the view of the bowl making process. The prices are good for the area $14 for a large bowl and it comes with 2 scoops of protein, only 1 sauce (I had to ask if I could have 2 kinds, which she did do for me), only 2 sides and then toppings. Since they don't make the bowl in sight, I didn't see it until I got home. The lady did give us some free house miso, and that is the best thing that I had. The bowl that was $14 was about half full (picture shown), the fish did not taste fresh, the rice tasted old like it wasn't fresh either and the whole bowl was so dry. I had to rummage in my condiment drawer to see what I could add to salvage the bowl. The spicy tuna is not in cubes like the salmon, but how crab meat is in a California roll. And to top it all off we both had tummy issues that night and the next morning. I do not recommend and if it wasn't for the sweet older lady, this would have been a 0...
Read moreService has been consistent since posting this review with regards to service and the perks. I'm so glad that I gave them another try and frequent this establishment whenever I'm in the area.
I've been coming here pretty much on a weekly basis since I discovered this place. The service has always been speedy, friendly and the food fresh. I assume that the older couple are the owners and they have always been welcoming with a smile and appear appreciative of our business which motivates me to frequent this establishment because I want to see them in succeed. I like this location better than the one in Dallas because they offer complimentary miso soup before the meal.
Yesterday was the first time that I came here for dinner and was disappointed with the experience. We waited 20 min to get our food and no miso soup to tie us over. We were told that they were making it however my spouse said that it was in the big pot (don't know who ladles it out; the kitchen staff or the cashier/waitress/busgirl). I will give credit to the cashier/waitress/busgirl since this was the first time that I've seen her with a steady stream of orders whether for dine-ins or take out orders. I was just disappointed that my stomach was not completely satisfied on this visit.
I will continue to frequent this establishment but I will definitely pass if I see...
