A coworker organized eating here in lieu of having a Christmas party because schedules have been so hectic. I have heard about this place so much but have never gone on my own for a lack of vegan options. Nevertheless, I'm no Grinch and decided to just get the salmon sandwich since I had eaten so much foolishness lately. Anyway, we expected to be about an hour and a half, but that is about how long it took the food to come out. There were not a lot of people there as it is a smaller space. So, it may be that they were not accustomed to so many at one time. It is cute, though.

As far as the food...it was okay. The menu is a little different than surrounding spots, so I could appreciate that part. I do want to point out that the 2 people that got the pecan crusted chicken salad thought it was great! The sauce they put on the fish sandwich was really good.

This may have nothing to do with the food, but we really had trouble watching staff walk around barefoot. Maybe they were off the clock. Maybe they were family, but walking back and forth between the front and back of the house isn't a good look. I know it is hard running a restaurant with small kids, but the play room has GOT to be clean if it is to be visible to guests. Because it is a hometown spot, the kids' presence was not a problem, for me, personally.

Our server did a great job. Very pleasant and attentive. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and did well offering alternatives, add-ons, and any adjustments to suit everyone's needs.

I would say, give it a try. It may be your go-to spot when you're in the area. It is not too far from the courthouse... a nice little walk if the...

Heard this was a good place with good food and great desserts from friend who goes there for lunch during work week. So decided to visit on a Saturday around 4ish pm on way home from trip to Banning Mills. We (3 of us) were the only people in the restaurant. No one came up to greet us. Employees were sitting in the back at a booth, looked at us, did not budge from where they were sitting. So we headed over to a booth. Waitress came over and gave us menus. She looked as if she was put out by us showing up. Never smiled, seemed bored. Took our drink order. Gave us a min to look over menu. Came back with drinks, but we were not quite ready to order and needed little more time. We were pretty thirsty so our beverages were empty by time placed order, but waitress did not refill after taking order, so set empty glasses on edge of table to give hint needed refilling, but waitress never came over. Food arrived about 15-20 minutes later, and waitress finally refilled beverages and that was the last time we saw the waitress until we got the bill. She did ask if we wanted dessert but they seemed to be low on their dessert selection, so ended up not getting anything and just the check. There were 5 staff people in the establishment. All seemed as though they really did not want to be there, and almost felt like they really did not want us their either. Perhaps this is more of a lunch type establishment? As by the time we left around 5:30 we were still the only people there, even though Shuckers next door was pretty packed with most of their outdoor seating occupied, perhaps we should have gone to...

Me and my wife wanted a good hamburger one Friday night and thought Sutton’s would be a good place to get it. We should have went to Applebees or somewhere else. The actual hamburger patty was fine, the toppings were pretty good also, but beyond that things went downhill fast. The bun was straight out of a plastic bag and had never seen any heat. It’s hard to enjoy a hot hamburger when everything on the burger is either cold or at best room temperature.

I had onion rings and my wife had the tater tots. My wife’s tater tots were best described as cold. My onion rings were slightly better, but not by much. When the waitress came by (a food runner had brought the food out) my wife told her the tots were cold and asked for some hot ones. In a few minutes the waitress brought some piping hot tater tots out. We didn’t know it at the time, but it would be the last time we saw our waitress.

I assume the waitress decided she wasn’t going to get a tip because of the cold tater tots, which wasn’t necessarily the case. She had corrected a kitchen mistake and we were okay with that. Being ignored for the rest of our time there was what impacted her tip. After we finished our burgers we had planned to indulge and get some cheesecake, but the waitress always took the long way around and wouldn’t come near our table.

Eventually we gave up on dessert, and getting our ticket. We just got up and went to the register and told the cashier where we had been sitting and what we had ordered. I went ahead and left a 10% tip, which was reflective of when our waitress quit...

FOOD: Burger and fries were good. The mahi and shrimp is not worth the high price. The mahi is more like tilapia, and with only three pieces of shrimp, makes this dish feel like it's an overpriced, poor quality meal. SERVICE: Servers were heloful and friendly (but a little inappropriate when she puts her hands on the male guests unnecessarily). ATMOSPHERE: It was clean and like sitting in a family friendly diner.
