I'm excited that Carl's Jr IS BACK IN CARSON CITY!!!
[[7/4/25: I had a Triple Western Burger with Chicken Tenders (mostly for a snack later). I tried one while hot and fresh and the best chicken to compare their handbreaded tenders is against Raising Cane's and Carson's copycat Cane's, Guthrie's. I'd say they're on par. If you want a burger but wouldn't mind some chicken to snack on, Carl's Jr is a better bet than Wendy's (their nuggets are so sad in comparison). I enjoyed the burger too. And the service is still great. The guy working the counter was great! Keep it up! You may well win over Carson City!]]
They opened it when I wasn't looking. I'm only sad that I didn't notice sooner!!! I fell in love with Carl's Jr in Austin, Texas when I was living there for eleven years. Note that Austin is a foodie Meccha. There's a ton of restaurants, a ton of options and out of the ones I tried, I chose Carl's Jr above all others with Wendy's taking second place. They're both known for generous portions and good prices. Carl's Jr wins in my book due to their patties' smoky flavor. I'd say that Burger King is third place in Carson City at this point by my standards. All three are solid choices. Burger King has a similar flavor, but their burgers lack the same Carl's Jr signature flavor that I got hooked on.
It's been a long time since Carson City had Carl's Jr. If you ate at the old restaurant and had a bad experience then, I urge you to not judge the new place without tasting their burgers! For those who never had it before, absolutely eat here!
It looks like the average ratings are low and honestly given my own experience with them, I have a very hard time understanding why. I feel much of this must be coming from their competitors, tough judges, or those with a grudge against Carl's Jr, given how that restaurant went out. Please eat here and give them plenty of reviews to help them out. They should be known as one of the best places to go in Carson City for a delicious fast food burger. I believe that they deserve a lot of positive attention and good ratings.
Why do I feel so strongly aside from my nostalgia and a food craving having been satisfied? The staff is clearly well trained, at least the cashier I spoke with. She was nothing but polite, kind, and friendly. That's some Chick-Fil-A high standards right there! Please keep the bar this high, Carl's Jr! You'll go the distance if you do! Smiles go a long way!
So far, I give them five stars in every category. I'll continue to visit now and again as I can and revise my review...

I had a rather disappointing experience at the newly opened Carl's Jr. yesterday. I pre-ordered through the app while in the drive-thru line at 6:15, expecting a smooth drive-through process. The app stated that my order would be ready by 6:49 PM. However, after patiently waiting in a very long drive-thru line, I watched the car in front of me pick up their food and was met with a frustrating surprise at the window: my order was not ready.
Instead of honoring the drive-through promise, I was asked to go inside to collect my order. After following their instructions, I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes for my food while several other customers and Uber drivers who had before watched as I received my order. All of them dropped their Uber orders, one being for a simple hamburger. It was incredibly disheartening to see others in the drive-thru continue to get served while I waited, and I felt compelled to raise my concerns with the staff.
When I finally spoke to the manager, who was oddly the only person not in uniform, I learned that mobile orders are prioritized after dine-in customers, which is contrary to what the app indicated. I also witnessed another customer, who had been waiting for 57 minutes for dine-in food, sat frustrated when they received the wrong order.
Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory. This location has only been open for a few days, and it's clear that significant retraining of the staff is needed to improve their service and adhere to the commitments made through the app. To expand on that, the register “trainer” didn't know how to load paper in the printer - causing a further delay. I hope they can address these issues quickly, as I believe in the potential of Carl's Jr. but was left very disappointed this time around.
To add to the disappointment, the food was cold - how they managed that is unknown to me. The fries had only old oil as seasoning - no salt. The chicken sandwich was over...
Read moreI didn’t mind waiting the 45 mins in the drive through we had to wait but unfortunately it was only down hill from there! We get to the window and except to get good food and service at least but first thing the lady at the window is rude gives us our sodas I take a sip well waiting on our food and it’s water and no carbonation so I ask her if we could get 2 different sodas says the machine is out of carbonation and I ask okay could I get different drinks she says no! Then they give us our food and it’s not what we ordered we paid for triple burgers got singe which would be find if I didn’t just pay 60$ on only 3 people and not much food at all! The fries where half empty cold and sticky oily like they had been sitting for hours with bad oil which would be ironic since they just opened and we had to wait so long you would think we where waiting to get fresh food but no everything was awful the food the service the wait last night they didn’t want to help me or make it right So I came back today hoping for redemption and I wait in line to politely tell the lady I would like to speak with a supervisor and I tell her why and she was very nice the to elder lady’s up front would wonderful but the manager who was bagging food she talked to accused me of lying wouldn’t talk to me just told the lady said no they ate the food which wasn’t true after trying it we through it away!!! It was inedible, I just wanted a refund but i understand that they weren’t comfortable doing that because I didn’t have the food from yesterday but the Latina man who was the manager was yelling being extremely rude when I was very nicely letting him know what had happened and he said I guess I’ll just make the food then the lady told me and I excepted the food maybe it will be better no it was hot at least today but very sloppy and unprofessional I think they wasted there time opening back I won’t be back and will not recommend eating there
