Very dishonest, unfair, make me feel unsafe. We would not recommend this hotel to friends and families and all guests. We were at the front desk of Carson Valley Inn, Minden, NV. making the reservation online on 12/27/17 evening..during the process of reservation the Travelocity took us to this hotel, Carson City Plaza Hotel. We didn't know that was an error until we showed the reservation confirmation to the front desk of Carson Valley Inn, the front desk told us that this is not the hotel, we immediately called Carson City Plaza Hotel to inform that is an error, we were not in Carson City, we were at a hotel in Minden that has the same name, it would not have been safe for us to drive in the dark at night from Minden to get to Carson city just to save the $70; plus Carson City is not on our way at all. We request to cancel the reservation and get full refund. The hotel told us that they have nothing to do with the credit card charge and advised me to call Travelocity... she confirmed that as long as Travelocity agrees with the cancellation and do not charge to my credit card, the hotel won't get involved with any charge. I followed her advice and called Travelocity soon after I talked to her. Travelocity told me that they agreed with my cancellation, but wanted to talk with the hotel, so I was put on hold for about 20 minutes... after that Travelocity told me that the hotel front desk was very rude to him, he said that the woman told her to call back to talk with her manager in the morning, which he did, but there is no good outcome. The hotel took advantage of having the same name of hotel in Minden, not giving us the refund. When I called Carson City Plaza again, first, the front desk told me that, "oh, we are not Carson City Plaza Hotel", then my husband asked if her hotel is in Carson City, and the woman said "yes", then we confirmed the hotel name, then she said "yes" it's Carson City Plaza Hotel. I gave her my name, she said "my name" is not on the system, which is a lie because the woman at the night before confirmed that my name was on the system. Then, she pretended not knowing what it was about, then when we mentioned about the call from Travelocity, then all of the sudden she started talking about refusing giving us the refund, then put me on hold, then hung up. Carson Valley Plaza Hotel has given false information to its customers, Cheat and lie. Please do not stay...
Read moreIn August 2014, bugs were eating me every night but they weren't like any bugs I had before. Not knowing how to get rid of bugs I couldn't see, they came home with me. And I have spent 8 months now trying to get rid of them since they infested my steering wheel, laptop & other electronics, and my bed. Now they live at the root of my hair on my head, even after I've washed it! Sometimes they swarmed my other warm parts. They look like little white or black dots. The larger ones look like little triangles. Some get as big as small "moths". Most Pest Control companies did not know what they were. Finally Clark Pest Control told me they are spider mites - very different from dust mites. I will never use this hotel again. I told the manager and 2 workers they had bugs, and they said nothing. I wondered if other unsuspecting people would get these bugs while at this hotel & sure enough they did! So the bug problem is not cleared up at this hotel. If you pull down the sheets, you cannot see them; they wait for a human being to lie in the bed and then they come out. They look like white lint or dead skin that has flaked off your skin - but they are persistent, tenacious bugs who will take up residence on your body. Put nothing on the floor and use tea tree oil conditioner overnight in your hair if they get there. Constant cleaning does not get rid of them but they dislike rubbing alcohol & ammonia. I've had to throw out so many things and throw out my pillows and air mattresses 4-5 times over the last 8 months. I cannot buy a bed until they are gone,...
Read moreI was recently back in the Carson area visiting family, and we decided to stay at Carson City Plaza. My dad’s cousin helped open and manage it, and they even held a memorial celebration for her there. I remember it being pretty nice, so we gave it a try. Sadly, it’s clear those days are gone.
Check in was at 3pm, so we lined up to check in, and we were told "you can't check in yet." I was confused and said "Isn't check in at 3pm?" They said yes, but that rooms weren't ready yet and we'd have to wait. Understandable, but awkward first interaction by, point blank, telling someone they can't check in yet. Context is always helpful...
The "hotel" is 3 separate buildings. A main building, and 2 grungy motel-style buildings behind the main parking lot. The room was in extremely poor condition: stained carpet, torn comforter, chipped and stained sink, broken fixtures, and water damage, potentially mold, in the bathroom area. One of the beds had dirty sheets. Poorly maintained and did not match photos online. Right outside of the bedrooms, there were various chairs and office chairs, where people, including staff, would congregate and smoke in. Ironically near signs saying "no smoking within 25 feet of building."
I requested a full refund based on the condition of the room, which was not as advertised. I was offered a partial refund, which I ultimately had to escalate through my credit card company — they reviewed the photos I submitted and approved a...
