As someone who travels cross country for work, Iām definitely a full blown foodie so Iām always on the hunt for the next unforgettable bite. Fuego & Bali is a top tier gem! We came here for what was supposed to be a serious business meeting. But after one bite of their burrito, I literally had to close my eyes and do a happy dance right in my seat and I wasnāt the only one.
We planned to hash out all kinds of problems, but not a single word was spoken just a bunch of yums and moans of delicious delight, everyone was too busy savoring every bite. As far as business meetings go, it was an absolute disaste lol. But as a foodie boardroom takeover, it was the most successful hostile merger of delicious flavors Iāve ever witnessed. Iām a big fan of agua frescas, but Iāve never really found an agua de jamaica I actually like until now. I can honestly say Iāve never tasted an agua de jamaica like the one they make here. Youāve got to try it!
On top of that, the staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff are as warm and fresh as their tortillas you feel like family the second you walk in!You can tell they truly care about what they do the service made us feel right at home and only added to the good vibes. The tortillas are made in house, the flavors are out of this world, and the whole atmosphere is warm and genuine.
Now I totally get why they named it āFuegoā this place is straight fire. If you ever find yourself in Carson, trust me: your taste buds will thank you. This spot is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām on a road trip with my buddy to Seattle from LA and this is probably one of the most unique experience we have on this trip. We randomly found this place on Google maps cause the photos look so good. Not gonna lie we were a little bit skeptical at first.
When we got there he saw the lights are half off, we still got out of our car and asked. The owners Barry and Lady C were literally closing and locking the doors on the way out and they reopened the restaurant just for us!!! I was like what????? While we waited for our food, the owner Barry told us the entire story of how he got into starting this restaurant and he is a super passionate and nice person. It was about 10:40 PM, the other owner Lady C reopened the kitchen to cook just for us while Barry still remained his passion to late night customers even after his restaurant is closed.
The food is pretty epic. We were camping that night and felt a little bit tired. Therefore we just decided to just buy dinner and this is such an amazing choice. Iām so glad we went. What a hidden gem.
Would definitely visit Barry and Lady C when Iām back in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDear Ming, It's hard to believe we've been crossing this path together for over 20 years. From our earliest days dreaming about food and hospitality, to now each running our own restaurants-it's been a journey filled with passion, perseverance, and pride. You in Bali, me in Java-two islands, two hearts, and two kitchens that carry the legacy of our mothers. Their wisdom, their flavors, their love-they live on in every dish we serve. What a gift it is to introduce our unique cuisines to the world, each plate a story, each taste a tribute. Every cuisine is a reflection of culture, memory, and soul (I still think of your Ayam Betutu amongst other delicious food you made. They were really great). I hope that each person finds what nourishes them, in food and in life. I want nothing more than for you to succeed, to thrive, and to continue creating magic in your kitchen. Our friendship means the world to me. Here's to growth, to grace, and to the flavors that connect us. With love and...
