I have visited this location about 6 times in as many months. Some days, the food is good and makes the visit worth it. Other days, especially the last few visits over the last month make me wonder why. I waited over 15 minutes in the drive thru line today. I felt trapped and would have left if I could have. Then I take my soup and salad out of the bag to realize they gave me the wrong items. My receipt was correct, nearly $22 for a small soup and half salad (very little salad provided), but the salad was the wrong one and conflicted with my dietary restrictions. Ugh.
Twice now, I wait to place an order in-person with no cashier around. I even heard one cashier recommend to someone else to place their order on the computers instead of with a human. I get that the younger generations are more about a screen rather than human interaction, but I very much prefer to be served by a real body.
About 2 weeks ago my husband visited their store, making a 35 minute drive one way to get sandwiches and soups for us to have for dinner. They were out of the soup that I like and would not sell a sandwich noting that there was no more bread in the house for a sandwich. This was over 3 hours before closing and there was fresh bread on racks right behind the order taker. My husband was told that the bread was next day's and cannot be sold. That's fine, run out of key items that the restaurant is known for and then store next day items in front of the customer.
I spoke with a manager today about these two most recent encounters. They are going to make it right so I will try again. If not for the manager's response to my concerns, I would have given less stars. I hope these guys get it together. I like the food, but won't be supporting the Carson City location in the future if things...
Read moreWas there around 9:40am today with my daughter and granddaughter. The only other customers inside were three gentlemen sitting together. Placed our order through the kiosk. Paid to have bacon added to one sandwich at $2.29 extra and the other sandwich came with bacon and paid to have avocado added at $1.99 extra. Also ordered a bagel and cream cheese, 2 coffees and a milk. As has become the norm at so many fast food and basically self service establishments, I was prompted to leave a tip before finalizing the transaction. As I have been weak in the past and did leave a tip only to be burned by not getting what I ordered or dealing with rude employees, I did not leave a tip this time. Tips should only come after the food has been received. With that said, the hazelnut coffee, which is the main reason I go there, was lukewarm and seemed watered down. When I went to get the food, as they no longer bring to the tables, I had to make several trips as there were three plates and the drinks. Not fond of leaving exposed food on a counter where others are picking up from and generally walking by. At least it was very empty today. The sandwich that came with bacon had none, so had to take it back to be added. The sandwich that I paid $2.29 extra to add bacon came with only one slice cut in half and it was not crispy. The place did seem clean and the girl who added the bacon to the returned sandwich was very friendly and even reheated the sandwich. The sandwiches did taste good too, but not sure all the other issues or mistakes are worth going out of my way to go back to this particular Panera...
Read moreWe got here 15 minutes before closing, which I never like to do but we were on our way home from Tahoe. We ordered quickly on the self-order tablets. It was $73 for 2 adults and 2 kids, plus a baby who was sharing my food. We found a table to sit down at. Waited and waited. 20 minutes later someone came and told us they were out of several things in our order. We said that was fine and made adjustments. 5 minutes after that the manager came over and said they were closed and they would wrap our stuff and we’d have to leave. She didn’t ask if that was ok, she wasn’t pleasant, she just told us what was happening. This was 25 minutes after we had ordered. And we had a 7 month old baby with us. We finally got our food 10 minutes later and sat outside and ate. The food wasn’t good at all. Maybe this was because it was the end of the day, but the sandwiches had practically nothing on them, the Mac n cheese was soggy and cold, it was a terrible experience all around, especially for $73. Insane prices for bad service and terrible food. We...
