Taqueria La Salsa — Restaurant in Carson City

I am a local and have been to Juans several times with friends because they have good drinks, however the food has always been mediocre. Today was the last time I give this business the benefit of the doubt and continue supporting it. I went in with a few friends and my 2 year old. The service was extremely slow. I got a diet coke which was flat. I asked for a water and after waiting a while so I had to ask another server passing by for waters because our waitress was nowhere to be seen. lorder my son the "guacamole" dip, which was a gross guacamole mix which appeared to be from a bag or a can that they sell from any grocery store. The chips were stale and the salsa was watery and lacking flavor. l asked no onions on my food and of course when I received my meal, it had onions. The rice was crunchy and old, the beans were also old and the enchiladas lacked flavor. We sat with empty drinks for a while until the waitress came back. At the end of the experience we were hit with a gratuity charge on a 5 person table. My guess was the waitress knows her service is bad and adds these charge to her tabs. My favorite carnitas in Northern NV. This place is family owned and operated. Their homemade recipes are also flavorful and tasty. I love their limonada and their carnitas taco plate. I always leave satisfied.

February 2024 Update - Now we've got my son in-law hooked. He loves coming here with us. He likes their pozole and we all love their tacos, sopes and tamales. Really good food made by good people who love to serve the community.

April 2024 - this place continually comes in clutch and makes everything soooooo good. We really enjoyed our food and service tonight! Thanks for always being ready and willing to make us feel at home and fill our bellies. Love this place!

September 2025 update - I still love this place. Hands down the best carnitas, even over all the places I thought were da bomb in SoCal, these are my favorite. First time at Taqueria La Salsa, location is small but I was happy to be seated as soon as I arrived.

Had a little trouble trying to modify the menu because I'm allergic to a few things but the Waitress offered her suggestion and helped me modify my order to my liking, she was friendly, helpful and cute. I also had an encounter with the waiter he was also polite, attentive and very friendly.

Now the food, I was amazed how well they modified my meal I rarely get this kind of service even at high end restaurants. The food was flavorful, fresh a and fast. I will definitely make it a habit to come to this location everytime I'm in Carson city.
