The Human Bean — Restaurant in Carson City

I’ve had a ton of issues with them on multiple occasions and I’ve tried to be understanding considering I’ve worked in customer service for over 5 years and I get how overwhelming and frustrating it can be. I’ve been charged for drinks I shouldn’t have been charged for, never get my drinks made right, and have to constantly repeat my order to them because the girls are too busy gossiping with eachother and can’t remember the orders. When I spoke to who I’m assuming was the manager I thought they were truly concerned about the issues but when I received the single medium size free drink coupon I realized they weren’t concerned. Truly disappointing considering how understanding and patient I have been. Guess I’m going back to Dutch bros and Starbucks.

02/07/2021- Came in yet again. Ordered my same drink and even with the lid labeled they still didn’t give me whip on my drink. They could manage to fill a whole cup up for my dog but couldn’t put whip on mine or my fiancé’s drinks. And lovely Rebecca tried telling me that the whip wasn’t on my drink because it melted...less then one minute after being made. I’ve sent ANOTHER email to Chrissy the owner and she won’t respond back at all. Asked Rebecca for the corporate number and she refused and said she would only give me chrissys number. I highly recommend going to ANYWHERE else besides human bean. They don’t respect their customers, have a severe lack in customer service, and the owner just won’t respond if you are saying anything bad about her place. Also I will be taking Ms rebeccas advise and I will go back to Starbucks and not come back...

Human bean is my FAVORITE coffee place. Literally, I would never go anywhere else anymore. Step aside starbucks, you are just embarrassing yourself. The people that work here are the kindest, friendliest, and upbeat people I’ve met. When I have to think about how early they need to be here, I know I would be too tired to function. But these people…they are almost superhuman. I was in a bit of a rut recently with my coffee. I normally get caramel or peppermint mochas, but I didn’t want those for some reason. I asked for a recommendation, and she recommended a caramel hazelnut based off of what I normally get, and it was great. So knowledgeable!!

The prices are reasonable—definitely cheaper than starbucks, and better quality too. They offer my favorite drink, peppermint mocha, year round (which is another thing starbucks doesn’t do), and the caramel mocha is amazing. My partner gets the lattes and loves them too! Their smoothies are phenomenal as well. I always get my drinks with oatmilk, and even with the substitution, the price is still great!

Personally not a HUGE fan of the food, it’s kind of dry, but I don’t normally get it anyway. I’m not that hungry in the morning. HOWEVER THE BEAN! They give you a bean with your drinks—a chocolate covered bean. Especially when it is slightly warmed by your drink, it is just the best. I literally buy a bag of them and it is the best thing ever.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do yourself a favor and change your normal coffee place to here. You will not regret...

I love this place. If you want a coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sugared up by garbage and want a nice beverage made with a clear, obvious coffee taste to it. This is definitely the place to go.

However, I’ve noticed recently that the sugar is becoming more and more dominate in flavor, and the coffee becoming less and less.

It all really depends on who is working honestly. For the most part, it’s perfect 90% of the time.

For example, I love matcha green tea. Sometimes I’ll get a nice dark green tea flavor and color and taste, and other days, like today, I’ll have to throw away my drink because it was slightly green sugar milk requiring a dose of insulin afterwards.
