Awful service from both the host and the sous chef. We drove 50 minutes to eat here from South Lake Tahoe and when we asked for a table for 7 at 7:50pm, the host said none were available for our size at the time. We noticed two open tables and let her know we didn’t mind splitting up. She told us yes she can do that and it would be a 15-minute wait, which was more than fine. Just a couple of minutes later, she came back out saying the sous chef was upset and that they would now require a mandatory 20% tip per person for “accommodating us.”
Tipping is not an issue — but there were no accommodations being made. We weren’t even going to be sitting at the same table! It honestly felt like Kei Sushi just didn’t want us there, even though they didn’t close until 9pm. Hearing that the chef was “mad” about having to serve guests sealed the deal for us and we will never be coming back.
Luckily we found our new favorite sushi spot just 7 minutes away...
Read moreSo I gotta give this place five stars for the food and the quality. The atmospheres is great as well however be prepared for the staff to charge you for not eating all of your all you can eat orders and when I say they’re gonna charge you for any thing left on the plate, dont leave anything…Our most recent experience will actually have me never go back to this restaurant ever again. We literally left two dollars worth of food on the plate and they wanted to charge us a fee for not finishing our all you can eat when we ordered close to $100 worth of food. When you would compare what we ordered to the à la cart prices this is shameful and it gets real old that a lot of these restaurants in Carson City try to act like they’re high end restaurants in big cities. A lot of the Carson City establishments need to remember that their main source of income is the people that live there. Carson City is not the largest...
Read moreI was pleased at first, then when it came to standard service I was not impressed. We were a party of seven placed together at a table. That was very nice. Myself and one other person had ordered all you can eat. I had to ask for my Wasabi and ginger instead of them just giving it to me. When my food came it was mixed on a plate with someone else's food, even though it was ordered separately. It was placed next the person where I couldn't reach my food. I had to change seats in order to eat my food. I had to ask for my water to be refilled and when it finally was refilled they had put warm water with no ice in it. So what was left of my ice had immediately melted and I had to drink warm water. The other person eating all you can eat ordered the dragon balls with his first order. We didn't receive them until the meal was over. I was not pleased with this overall experience and I will probably...
