So I did what anyone who is sick of things not being done right would do and I found the master install guide and ordered an OP500 so I can see what's going on in there. So many features on this system and nobody offered to set it up. This stuff is supposed to be programmed by the installer. They should go over the options with the vehicle owner and set it up accordingly. I bought the most expensive alrm they have and they set it up to default on everything so essentially I got the most basic remote start and paid for the premium system. Then the key fob fell apart because someone cross threaded the extremely delicate threads in the aluminum piece that covers the reset button. After setting up door locks I found that the locks wouldn't lock until I got to 3500 rpm because they didn't properly set up the tach sensing. I had to turn on passive arming myself which they insisted is not an option. At the end of the day, the physical work they did was clean other than the zip ties left under my floor mat. But this system really needs to be set up for the customer. Also, the lifetime warranty that compustar gives you when it's installed by a "Pro Dealer" is only good for 1 year when you plug in Unique Sounds as the installer when you register your warranty. Bottom line.. They do clean work but you'll need to insist that they set it up to YOUR needs and not default everything. Or just buy the tool and set it up yourself which is really what I've had to do with everything in carson city. We stopped for a stereo repair while traveling thru Carson City. They said they could squeeze us in to take a look. I explained we didn’t have a lot of time that I can make an appointment and come back another day while we were in town that he said that this day was the best day because they had room for us. Little did we know we would end up wasting half of our day there. After an hour they fixed the stereo and said our camera was shot.I asked him what they had to replace it.he got another that fit the hole but did not tell me price or discuss what they were doing.he also made it appear they were working on it right away.3 hours after that they were still not done. They had not been working on our truck most of the time and in the 4 hours we sat I heard SEVERAL people get work done and be charged for it. The way they handled the local customers and the prices they charged them were the only thing leaving me with any hope this would be ok.They did not extend the same courtesy or pricing to us. They charged us more than the labor rate that was posted on the wall and we paid a high price for the camera. We paid the highest bill that I heard anyone pay for an item and labor in the entire time I sat there. And then he tried to act like he was doing us a favor by overcharging us and keeping us there for four hours. So disappointed and discouraged. Read moreI am preparing for a big trip in 6 days in my motorhome. I decided to have the engine’s battery tested so I disconnected it and had it tested. The battery was on its last leg so I bought a new one. After I installed the new battery and hooked up the wires to the terminals the horn started beeping. Isolating the horn wire I went to start the engine and no lights to the instrument panel and no power to the ignition. I then realized this motorhome has a security system. I recently bought the motorhome from a private party and they never told me there was a system installed or gave me any info. Hoping it’s a factory installed system I called the Ford dealership describing my problem and they said it’s not factory and referred me to Mitch at Unique Sounds. Mitch realized my concerns and the timing of my trip and sent Khalid to my house. Khalid accessed the wiring compartment under the dash and immediately noticed how screwed up this after market system was installed. I told him to remove everything as I didn’t want anymore issues.
