Ken's Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Carson

On 4/24 Friday I decided to try this ice cream shop; being a huge fan of Baskin and Robbins all my life I was sceptical. But the friendly attitude of both gentlemen upon entering was welcoming😃they made me feel like we want your business. Polite and offering me service that is sorely missed these days, I made my selection and asked could I leave until my fish order was ready so it wouldn’t melt. This was met with a warm accommodating attitude. So I get home with my Sundae and discover I will not after all these years return to B & R I received more for my money and it was delish!! A truly wonderful family run ice cream parlor. In town on business and google searched the best shops in town. Thought I’d give them a try, and doing so I have no doubt the universe pointed me in the right direction. The whole family was very friendly and welcoming. They had a marvelous assortment of creative flavors. Tried the Birthday Cake and felt like a kid again sneaking funfetti cake batter when my mom would bake cakes. Got the peanut butter chocolate and the horchata flavors: they were really good! The peanut butter comes in chunks, so there's either very little or very large peanut butter flavor, and the chocolate was very rich. The horchata kind of reminded me of like a churro flavor. Neither ice cream was too sweet (not even the peanut butter).

The portion was huge. It's too scoops of ice cream for a "single", which is about $5-6 depending on cup vs cone.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
