I've been going to the Long Beach location for about 10 years but they closed & move to Carson. (Let me tell you my heart ripped out of my chest when I found this out because I eat here on average 1-2x weekly). I'm obsessed with their Chinese chicken salad. This salad is perfection as their secret recipe dressing is unique & addicting. They need to bottle it.
I'm very picky with eating meat, I was a vegetarian before but went back to being a flexetarian (don't judge me) so I only eat meat at select places. Their meat here is always tasty. I've never gotten sick after eating here all these years. My stomach doesn't play & I will get food poisoning if the food is tainted.
The salad itself is simple. Nice & green and they barely use iceberg in it but some other green leafy lettuce primarily which I appreciate. It comes with scallions, cucumbers, fried wonton strips with roasted cashew slices I believe. The combination is amazing. I eat it as is but I will also add more to it at home, like shredded cheddar cheese, jalapeños & cherry tomatoes. Chef's kiss! Yes I'm a fatty but this salad helps keep my weight under control. I don't feel like I'm missing out when I'm eating this...it's a treat in itself. I prefer this over heavier foods. Speaking of other foods I love their chicken teriyaki too, they do teriyaki justice & the rice is soft n fluffy...so be sure to try that as well.
Now on to the Rascal's team & management. I've always experienced great employees here & have held short conversations with them randomly. The manager Art is my bestie in my head. His service makes you feel like you're a VIP consistently. He knows my order & will have me in & out quickly minus the pleasantries & sharing life updates with one another. He is probably the main reason subconsciously I have kept coming back & will continue to regardless of them being further from me. I'm about to drive there now to get a large salad to go which is 2 meals for me. It's a huge portion. Half today for dinner & half tomorrow night. It holds up in the fridge great.
Omg this is one of my longest reviews ever & nobody asked me to do it. I love this place & it's people. Thank you Art for being an amazing...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Rascals in Carson every Saturday for the last year. Same order, same routine: chicken plate with the chicken salad deluxe. It’s my comfort meal after a long week of work.
But this time, they got it completely wrong. I got home, ready to relax, only to find a drenched, incorrect order. No chicken salad deluxe. Just a mess. So I had to turn around, tired and frustrated, and drive back.
When I arrived, the employee admitted it was their mistake—but instead of fixing it or apologizing, he tried to charge me an extra $1.02. Over their own error. He was dismissive and condescending.
Then the general manager, Edward (or Eddie), stepped in. And instead of resolving the issue, he doubled down on the disrespect. When I asked for contact info for the owner, he smugly said there was no one to contact. No accountability. No professionalism. Just attitude.
I asked for a full refund, which I received. But as I left, Edward made sure to proudly repeat his name—as if poor service was something to be proud of.
This isn’t just about a wrong order. It’s about how you treat people—especially regulars who’ve supported your business consistently. Rascals Carson, do better. Your food may be consistent, but your customer service just hit...
Read moreSo excited for this location! The dining area is noticeably smaller than other locations, as you can tell from the outside. More of a pro-takeout setup. Ordered a deluxe family pak for 5 adults - best value on the menu TBH! Food quality (flavor and freshness and all) is excellent and consistent with what you'd expect if you've been to Rascal's (maybe better than Long Beach! 😮). The chicken was tender - kinda wish the pieces were chopped equally, but not a big deal. Large salad was packed in like the other locations do. Service was speedy! All in all, it's South Bay's pride:...
