Entered and the place was busy. That's usually a good sign, but the constant overreaction by the owner? caused unnecessary panic. When something went wrong she immediately started yelling "Oh my god! Oh my God! We are out of green tea!" You could tell she was stressed and it was overwhelming for her. This affected not only the customers experience but also the other worker, Megan. "You left the brown sugar..."
After getting my order I advised her that she was the leader in this situation and her attitude dictates the atmosphere- she replied with i was being condescending and did another two or three fake apologies.
Waiting 10 minutes in line to order is one thing, but the 10 minutes of waiting with the chaos this lady added wasn't worth it.
The drink was yummy. I feel bad for Megan tho.
Edit after owner response: Eavesdropping implies i had a choice; unfortunately its difficult to when you are broadcasting your woes to the whole store. And yes, you were understaffed. And yes, you were busy. This does not however make it okay to act like the world is ending, and loudly at that. Everyone deals with these situations and my suggestion was for you to calm down a bit as you were loud and broadcasting every minor issue to the store. Read moreI would like to leave a good review but I genuinely felt uncomfortable when going there. As a person of color I did not feel welcomed. The women who I presume is the owner immediately started videoing us (very obviously mind you) and could be overheard talking about us. She continued to point her camera on us as we were ordering. She didn't even greet us whenever we walked in. The man who took our orders was super polite and was the only reason I continued to order instead of leaving. I would not like to make it about race but is sure seemed that way because when a white couple entered the store they were treated completley differently. I never leave bad reviews but this situation genuinely upset me and had ruined the rest of my day. I usually try to support these small businesses but this mistreatment was too much for me. The menu is extensive with lots of interesting options. I will definitely be back. The place is very clean and the decor is lovely. There aren't too many places to sit and enjoy your drink while chatting with a friend, so I would consider this mainly to be a take out facility. The person running the store was very business focused, which isn't all bad. She did lock the doors at 3:50 and rushed us slightly to place our order even though she told me she was closing at 4:30. She also reprimanded the person working with her within earshot of customers, which makes for a less than comfortable experience.
