My husband and I had a horrendous experience at this restaurant. We both love ramen and sushi, so it sounded right up our alley and we were excited to try it! When we arrived, they told us they would wipe down a table to get us seated. After a few minutes, we see a waiter with two menus walk passed us to an empty table. He never even glanced in our direction, but come to find out he expected us to just know to follow him. We sit down and look over the menus and wait for someone to take a drink order. This didn't happen for a long while, we sat for probably 15 minutes, watching the man who seated us check on all the tables around us. A waitress stopped and seemed surprised he hadnt taken our orders, since he was apparently supposed to be waiting our table. She took our orders and walked away. The man came back a few minutes after that and told us we had to place our order again for some reason. Clearly at this point we're really annoyed with the lack of communication and hospitality, but we still want to try the food. My husband ordered a bowl of ramen without egg, and I ordered a shrimp taco without cheese. Again, this order was placed twice. We then waited a full hour for our food. We considered leaving several times. We saw a couple across the restaurant receive their dishes nearly 25 minutes apart from each other. The woman next to us had ordered fried tofu, and we overheard her complain to the waitress that it was mushy. The waitress tells her there's nothing she can do, because the chefs would likely take an hour to fry more tofu for her. Obviously that's ridiculous, but we held on hope that our food would come out right and we wouldn't have the same experience. Sadly that wasn't the case. Both dishes came out wrong. The waiter went to hand me my taco and I could see a pile of cheese on it. I reminded him thay I didn't want cheese, and he responds with "Well, is it okay?". I'm FURIOUS at this point, and I say "No. But I've waited an hour and I know they won't fix it so I'll eat it." I scrape off the cheese and eat my one store-bought tasting shrimp taco. My husband got the egg he didn't order but that's far easier to take off than a handful of loose cheese. He enjoyed his ramen more or less, but it was nowhere near worth the infuriating service. We get our bill and of course we were charged for everything. I wanted to speak to a manager but I was too angry at the waiter to speak to him again. I wanted desperately to just leave without paying, because it was just an inexcusable experience, but my husband had a cooler head and calmed me down. We will NOT return to this place. Absolutely...
Read moreOur first time going about a month ago was a great experience with a party of 8 adults and two kids. Our food was great and our server was great. We drove about 30 min so we believed it this place was worth it. Last night, Sunday afternoon, was by far the worst experience. We walked in at 7pm with a party of 4 adults and two kids. It took about 10 min for us to be sat while the whole left side was empty but with just one table sat. Never got the high chair we requested. Once we were sat it took another 15min for a server to greet us. In those 15 minutes, we watched 4 other tables get sat after us. Two different servers attended those after us.. They got their drinks and orders all before us even being greeted. We sat there watching everyone get service before us so at that point we sat there looking up where else we could go. Before deciding where else, our waitress finally approached us and stated "she was busy cashing out another party". We decided to just stay and we gave her our complete order at that moment. I asked if our chicken karaage of our ramen combo could come out first because the kids were very hungry.. they did not but the spring rolls did about 10 min later. We watched every table that came after get there food fairly quickly. About 10 minutes after getting our spring rolls, our server still had to approach us and verify that she got our order correct. Another 15 min and we received our chicken karaage and zen fries. Another 10min for our ramen and at that point we were the last table on that side eating. Asked for a highchair again and actually got one. Our waitress never came back on how are food was or satisfaction. The food is not the problem, we enjoyed the ramen and it was as good as last time. But we probably won't ever make a 30 min drive just for this place again. We'll stick to our 1.5hour drive to Atlanta for ramen. And if we happen to be in town, we know who not to have taking care if us. We were the second to last table there walking out at 9pm. As a server myself, our waitress still received a generous tip but, there were many things that could've been done. Other servers, as a team, could've helped until our server was caught up because I understand being really busy. We didn't have to sit there and watch everyone else get attended before us and be one of the last ones eating and leaving the place. I've never experienced terrible service to the point of feeling the need to write a review but this was...
Read moreThis place is a family run business owned and operated fully by two individuals who are in their 70s. The language barrier is hard enough as it is, not to mention the horrible state the economy is in. The hours are stated clearly on the door. They close their kitchen 20 minutes before the store closes which is pretty typical for most places. The reason they close as early as they do is because the owners/chefs/prepcooks (two people doing 6 peoples jobs) live out of town, get up and come to work two hours earlier than the rest of the staff does, and then leaves 2 hours later than the staff does 5 days. in a row. Have some grace for these people my goodness. I am a long time regular and now a friend and all they do is work and sleep. All for some of you to try and get free food, complain about every little thing, and not tip your server properly even when the service is exceptional . Just got back in town i stopped by and had a delicious meal and great service, just like it’s always been. So reading some of these reviews seem like people just being upset they didn't get what they wanted. You know the people who have been working there, some of them have been trying to hold that place together since 2019 when they opened. If you order something by mistake and the server reads the order back and you say yes then you will simply have to pay for it end of story… because since it is a family business that food needs to be paid for in some way and a lot of the time servers are generous enough to cover it for the customer i’ve seen it over and over again. Read the menu, ask questions, google it. If you are upset about the QR, ask for a physical one. You don’t have to throw a fit get up and leave. Some of you need to realize that these workers are not Ai bots that you can just treat any way you desire. The service industry is going to crash and burn if you don't start being kinder and more patient to these people. They are doing their best, and they may be young but a lot of them work harder than some of you all have lifted a finger just by having to deal with some of you people. KEY NOTE: If you obviously do none of these things then this isn't for you, but if this hits some of you in a bone you don't like maybe consider enrichment time and reflection...
