Coconuts Ice Cream — Restaurant in Cartersville

I cannot tell you how great this stop was. We were just passing through Cartersville just before 11PM, and my daughter and I wanted ice cream. So we did what anyone does in 2019, and we Google searched for ice cream shops that were still open. So we drove about four miles out of the way, and I'm so glad we did. The owner, Darren, greeted us at about five minutes until 11 as if it were the middle of the day - no rush as if they were in a hurry to close. He's got about a half dozen high-school age kids working there, and they are GREAT kids. Very polite and genuinely happy you are there. They, too, appeared to be a in no rush to close or hurry out.

The store is a cute Hawaiian themed shop that is located in a pretty neat old-town portion of Cartersville. I don't know Cartersville very well at all, but there were several young couples who were sitting outside in a little patio area, and if we weren't already staring at a midnight return home, we would surely have stayed to enjoy our goodies there.

Throughout this entire review, I've yet to mention the ice cream. Well, here goes: simply delicious. Darren allowed us to sample a couple of flavors, and the kids made us an amazing milk shake and a huge waffle cone. Like nothing you can get anywhere else.

My daughter and I were blown away. We wished we had one of these where we live, and we vowed we would stop by if we're ever back in Cartersville or happened to be passing through again. Well...

I'm a shaved ice nut... This place is beyond amazing..... 10 stars!! If Willy Wonka had an ice cream shop... This would be it! I've been going here since the first year they opened the door. I used to go everyday sometimes twice a day before I moved. Now i go everytime I'm within atleast a 15 mile radius. I get a large wedding cake flavor shaved ice w/ double cream, always have, always will. I live near Alabama now, but I'm planning the birth of my child who's due in July, to be in Cartersville just so I can swing in for a treat after all my appointments and especially to have these brought to me while I'm in the hospital!! Not even kidding. This place is the absolute best. The texture of the shaved ice is perfection! It's not hard, it's not compacted, it's not just ice nuggets, It's perfectly, thinley, shaven ice! The juice that they use is not over sugary, it's not bland, they use the right amount so there's no plain ice in your cup, it's perfect. The flavors are true to their names and tastes, and the proportions of the shaved ice which you choose and receive are perfectly priced. I'm sure they have plenty of other frozen goodies here, infact I know they do! and I'm sure they are equally amazing, but if you want to try what in my opinion is the very best shaved ice in the entire southeast and possibly even in the whole continintal u.s., then you need to go no further than little ol' coconuts, One of Cartersvilles best...

The poor girls had the displeasure of fulfilling the monstrosity of my creation. Today I felt feindish, and sought out a sour delight from this lovely place. Normally, I get a double shot of sour spray, which is usually dulled out by the time the snow cone turns into a slushy, so I gave in to temptation and ordered a large shaved ice with QUADRUPLE sour spray, which is not only double my usual order, but smaller than my normal size. The poor girl taking my order was rightfully horrified upon hearing my obscene request, and quietly told the other girls whom were making it. I could hear the gasps of horror from the windows, and couldnt refrain the devilish grin creeping upon my face as I watched the process. By the time it came to apply the sour delicacy in my life, I watched as the girl making it spent 2 minutes spraying before giving up, taking the nozzle off the spray bottle and dumping it over my dessert. I couldnt help but howl in laughter as the girls shared looks of horror as it was handed to me. Sure enough. My tounge is scorched and I feel like I have delicious...
