Today it was time to meet an arepas place. We had passed the door many times but had never tried it before. Today's review has a bittersweet feeling. Let's start with the good. I had already eaten arepas before in my life because I have a Venezuelan friend (a typical dish from there) who cooks them delicious. So I had a point of reference. The arepa per se had a very good taste, and the stews to fill them were also very good. They have a cilantro sauce that is GREAT!🤤 for dessert they have some very good little vanilla custard too. In short, the food was very good. Unfortunately, this story has a bad part. Upon entering the place I felt a blow to my nose with the very strong smell of chlorine, so much so that if it had not been cold I would have gone to eat at the tables outside. Finally, we stayed inside. The floor was super sticky, but the worst came later when I turned to one of the walls and saw...a tiny cockroach!

Have ordered several times recently for lunch. Food is fresh and hot, travels well. My favorite is the shredded chicken signature with Pico de Gallo, black beans, and shredded white cheese. Also like the shredded beef signature and pork signature as listed on menu. The meats are flavorful enough that sauce isn't needed but nice to add. Love the cilantro sauce for the chicken and the red sauce is super spicy. Have had both white and yellow arepa and can tell a difference but can't decide which is better. Recently ordered a bowl with white rice, shredded chicken, Pico de Gallo, black beans, shredded white cheese, added guasaca and it was more than enough for two to share for lunch. The rice has corn and peas in it. Photo in review is that bowl sitting on a 10 inch plate so you can see how big it is.

Guasaca 10 out of 10. For quick lunch or filling dinner The chips and salas 10 out of 10. The salsa has a sweet after taste. The salmon arepa: sautéed salmon, baked sweet plantains, caramelized onions ( put on your big adult pants), white cheese, cilantro sauce.100 out of 10. TRY IT. I like it with sour cream sauce and salsa. The chicken areapa shredded chicken, black beans, pico de gallo, and white cheese. Basic but filling. The chicken is chucky shreds. I would like finer shredded portions. You can customize all of the bowls and arepas. All of the food is fresh, made to order, and delicious. 2 arepas are filling with the chips. My order was correct and ready when I arrived without calling or texting. Im going back.

Walked in on Saturday Dec 18th @ 5:45. There were literally 3 men standing across the counter from me. When I tell you they went out of their way to ignore me, I'm not kidding. One was literally right in front of me and stared right past me for 30 solid seconds before he turned his head and walked to the end of the counter. The other 2 looked back and forth at each other, avoided eye contact with me and went on to busy themselves fiddling with food sitting out and rearranging paper bags.

There was no acknowledgement, no hello, no mention of anyone taking my order. I stood there for a solid 2 minutes to see how long it would take one of them to acknowledge my presence. No one did. So I walked out.

The restaurant was empty. NO ONE was in there. So no, they weren't busy. I have NEVER asked myself if I received certain treatment because of my race. But, the obvious disrespect from a group of Latino employees in a town like this makes me ask what the motive behind the treatment of this Black customer was.

Have been going to other locations for years. Very disappointed with...

Zero stars would be my rating, but that is not an option. Very rude and dismissive staff while in line trying to build your bowl. Very stingy with the items and if you ask for more the rude lady just huffs at you. She just gives off bad vibes like she does not want to be there and her only job is to be extremely stingy with every item. One tiny scoop of steak that was flavorless and tasted like garbage. Grilled chicken was over cooked and very dry. Staff could care less. Food here is super expensive and you get the smallest portions you can imagine. I mean, its almost a joke how little food you get in the bowl. $33 for 2 bowls and 1 kids meal. To be honest, if you combined everything together you would get one bowl of food. The kids meal was such a rip off. One tiny scoop of black beans, some rice and some dry over cooked chicken and a juice box for $7. This place needs a major overhaul. I hope the owner/operator reads this. I will never, ever go back. This place is a complete waste of money and all of us left hungry. Save your money. Go...

Service has really gone downhill at this location. Second time with poor service. This time I placed an online order and arrived a couple of minutes before the scheduled pickup time when I placed the order. Someone was waiting to pay for their order so I waited behind them. The guy behind the register just went over to take someone else’s order who was behind me. Eventually someone else came over to check out the people in front. Now 5 minutes after my order should have been ready for pickup I finally get to tell the person I’m here to pickup an online order. I give my name and he asks if it’s under a different name. I say no and the he finds my order which clearly has not been started. He reads off the order to the other person to make it and then after writing it down he takes yet another persons order and makes theirs first. 15 minutes later my order was ready. Never got an I’m sorry or apology for the delay. They didn’t care that someone had clearly messed up and not gotten my order ready. Just a little acknowledgement would have...
