I've eaten here many times, and I've always really enjoyed the food. However, I was so disappointed to see the rudeness of the staff tonight as we waited to get a table. And elderly woman had been waiting for a long time for someone to just acknowledge her presence and put her on the list for a table, but the staff was so busy running back and forth that they wouldn't even say hi or say, "I'll be with you in a few minutes." I finally caught someone's attention and directed them to help the woman first. The server, a middle aged woman with purple tinted hair, was SO incredibly rude to the woman that I couldn't believe it. All the woman wanted was to be recognized and be told they were working on helping her, the staff had no right to treat a customer in that way. Based on that, I'm not sure I'll ever be back here again.

I have been eating at Dsasumo for years and it was one of my favorite places. The last 2 times have not been good. Last night was the worst. My husband brought me home yellow curry chicken. I was a concerned when I took it out is the bag because the sauce was pink. I have eaten yellow curry all over this country and it is always yellow in color. The meat and vegetables were left in huge, obnoxious chunks. The chicken had the texture of bad tofu. It was spongy and squishy. I did not try the chicken itself because, salmonella. The flavor was absolutely rancid. I waited all night for the vomiting to commence but I guess I got lucky this time. I will not be returning, as I have no desire to play Russian roulette with food poisoning.

Rather than making this long let me make it bullet point. *Service (if you have a few hours to spare and you don't mind bad service then ā€œgo for itā€. *Side Note: Ask for an extra napkin since they only give you 2 even if you have more than 2 people. *Food (the seaweed is tougher than shoe leather). *Price is pricey but we always say that if the food and service are good then the price is justifiable. Our bill is over $100 and we paid for it before asking for the manager to give constructive criticism. My husband said he doesn't even believe that they sent us the manager, he said that's the person who cleans the table. He said they were trying to dodge the bullet. *We can confidently say that we will never come back.

First impressions: outside of restaurant/parking lot was clean. In fact, when we pulled up at opening time, there was someone cleaning the inside of the glass front door, which is nice to see. Inside of the restaurant was clean and pleasantly decorated. Walked in and the hostess said hello. It was just my husband and I, and we haven’t lived in a town with a sushi restaurant in almost 3 years so this was not only a special occasion food wise, it was also my husbands first day off in almost 3 months, so we looked forward to some good food and quality time together. Our server was Jade. She was super friendly, very attentive, and just a pleasure to be around in general, as we also heard her with her other tables. She is very personable 😊 The menu was extensive. Upper, but decent priced for good quality food. Our sushi was amazing! Definitely coming back again šŸ‘Will be requesting Jade as our server too. She was awesome 🫶. The only thing I would say that would need attention is the hostess/girl that sat us lacked a bit of warmth/personality. We got up to give the sushi bar our selections, as that has been our experience in some places with the bar being ā€œopenā€, as in you can watch them making it over the counter, and the hostess came over with our menu and told us ā€œfor future reference, you give your server your menu and they will give it to the kitchen. They have to change gloves every time soā€¦ā€. I managed restaurants for 20 plus years, so I completely understand the theory behind the directive, but I felt it could have been delivered in a friendlier way. Maybe with a smile? Over all we were extremely happy with our food and service 😊 We will...

SLOW. There are 3 tables here. 8 people. It took 15 minutes for someone to take my order. I've watched 1 person wait 12 minutes at the door. Then 45 minutes later I get sub par food. Not even what is a normal portion.

I even called to respectfully talk to a manager. They said no manager was on duty. The person they brought on to he phone argued. Saying that a 4 piece roll was standard and it is okay that Sushi smells like that.

Sushi should never smell rotten. So evident it is concerning they didn't notice. Lack if Knowledge or culinary experience. I can say this due to my accolades in the industry. I've ordered the same thing before and it was at least 8 pieces on a roll. My GF picked it up. They said 4 small pieces is standard now and charging the same price for half with smaller pieces.

Also during the call they said rudely. You're that guy that complained. Yes I was. I went in on an hour lunch break. Stood there waiting for at least 20 minutes to get seated in a restaurant that had a 4 top and nobody waiting for seats. I Made a simple order. Saw it made and just sitting there. I politely told the place. I have to go back to work, my food wasn't served and was sitting there for 25 plus minutes. Their response was sorry the waitress went on break. Really. Middle of service, during a lunchtime at 12:15pm they allow patrons to wait for food and have to walk out to go back to work without their order when they open at 11:00am. I'm not the only one. I saw 5 people...

Food

Ordered: Firecracker Roll, Kraken Roll, Fiery Shrimp Appetizer, Blossom Tea.

Firecracker Roll: Not spicy, very bland, jalapeƱos that were in the roll were just dead in the water with zero spice (tasted like bell pepper). Presentation was nice though.

Kraken Roll: Not spicy at all. Sriracha on top was the spicy part. Also bland and flavorless lacking in total flavor the panko bread crumbs were nice. Presentation nice roll was a bit loose.

Fire Shrimp: served super hot but really tasty the only thing that was. Coconut breaded shrimp deep fried served in a sauce. This also was not spicy at all not sure if it was supposed to be or not.

Blossom tea: super hot light yellow water. Taste was extremely subtle.

Service:

Spoke to 4 times total in 45 mins. Once to get our water, once to get our order, once to bring our order, and once to bring our check. Staff were not mean or rude just apathetic.

Atmosphere:

Probably the reason I’m giving 2 stars. The place fairly nice looking and really clean.

Price:

About average for a roll $12-$15, but for the quality I don’t think I’d try that again.

Overall: Save your money and skip the sushi. Maybe try something else...
