I was told by Columbia Corporate I could return in store and recieve original form of payment. When I tried to return to the store, they gave me store credit instead of registering it back to klarna. I had the original receipt and bought the boots online less then 2 weeks ago. I'm very dissatisfied how KACEY (2/19 around 3pm)handled this and have reached out to Klarna. They have confirmed this is considered an inappropriate way to handle this return. I will be speaking further with Corporate Columbia tomorrow.
I just wanted an exchange because they were one size too small, but since it was an online order that was not possible. I ordered the correct size Yesterday and came to return the too small boots Today. If I knew I was going to have store credit. I wouldnt have ordered boots and a jacket yesterday! She did t greet us when we entered which was about 30 minutes before closing and looked very irritated at the number of customers in the store. She announced the store was closing in 3 minutes which we were unaware so we chose 3 jackets and went to checkout. No one offered us any help. The guys at the register were very nice and helpful that’s the only reason I gave 2 stars. Our total was over $200. On the way out the same woman yelled across the store from the door very angry at the register and customers in line “we closed 10 minutes ago and we still have all this to do,” talking about the mess in the store. Very unprofessional and hostile to several customers still checking out at the register. It was only 5 minutes after 6pm on sun feb 16 th when we were out of the store with a few customers remaining. If you don't have a receipt, Columbia (Castle Rock) will not refund your purchase if you paid by credit card. They will only offer you a store credit despite being misinformed by an employee who indicated that it would not be a problem for a full refund.
The manager will make no exceptions to Columbia's store policy. I asked him twice--NO EXCEPTION. I asked why Columbia will not refund a purchase without a receipt if you paid by credit card. His reason was "loss control". He didn't say I'm sorry it's our policy with a reason that could be more palatable. The answer was simply loss control, which typically means theft or shrinkage. The manager further indicated that video surveillance is being used to monitor customer transactions. I said perfect, then you can pull the video to see I paid for the merchandise with my credit card.
