Easily the worst restaurant-going experience I've ever had, including fast food. Horrendously slow service, a waiter seemingly on his first day (which is understandable), but inexplicably with no one helping him, and awful food. After waiting for 30 minutes the dip finally arrived for our chips, and was not good. Between the time I sat down and the time I got my dry, almost-all-spinach salad there was an entire hour, despite the restaurant being not at all crowded. As I waited for my entree to arrive, I was both starving and very thirsty, two things I've never experienced simultaneously in a restaurant before. I decided to order the chili's equivalent of chicken tenders, as I thought they couldn't possibly be messed up, and should arrive reasonably fast. But then 30 minutes after my salad, my easily-prepared chicken crispers got to the table about 5 minutes after everyone else's entrees when I reminded the staff I hadn't received my food, and what my order was. The food itself was disgusting. Despite being at the restaurant at the peak of dinner, my fries were clearly multiple hours old. The chicken, even when I removed the plastic-tasting breading, was so overcooked I could barely chew it. It was like a plate of large chicken mcnuggets, only worse than any I've ever had. I also got to enjoy the pleasure of the bathroom, with its soaking wet floor, and toilets with rings of grime around the edges of the toilets and sink. Overall, I would suggest that no one ever visits this restaurant, and spends their money at McDonald's, to receive higher quality food at a lower price. At least the food will...
Read moreI usually don't leave reviews for chain restaurants, but this one "earned" it. The family wanted to go here, but with a few sick in the house, we ordered through their app. And that's where it all went south. The app wouldn't accept payment and said they were not taking online orders. But we tried again, and it was accepted. After an hour, and the App showing the order had not been picked up, we called. They said they were remaking the order and it should be ready to go in 15 mins. An HOUR later (now 2 hours since placing the order), I called again. They said they have the order, but that Door Dash hasn't picked it up yet. I said, I didn't order through Door Dash, we ordered through their App. That's when they told me that Chili's doesn't actually deliver, but they use 3rd party delivery. And unfortunately Door Dash wouldn't let them change drivers, so we have to wait. Given it's been 2 hours, no driver, and almost 8:30 now, I said I wanted to cancel and get a refund. That's when the Manager got on the phone. She explained to me AGAIN that they don't actually deliver, etc... and said Door Dash let us both down. Hungry and angry, I said that we ordered through their app. NOTHING says you use DD or Grub-Hub. So Chili's let me down.
Hey Chili's, you should clarify you don't actually deliver and use 3rd parties. You should take accountability when said 3rd Party fails and either call the customer and offer a discount or comp the meal. If I were in your restaurant, waiting for my meal for 2 hours, you certainly would have "made it right"....
Read moreMy friend and I came in for lunch and were seated right away in a booth in the lounge. The service was kind of slow but that's expected during a lunch rush.
I ordered a Blackberry Margarita, but our server suggested I try the Rita Rosé (the margarita of the month) and added that it was only $5. It was nice of her to make a suggestion to try something new, and save me some money! I was shocked when I saw the size of the Rita Rosé - it was the size of my head! It was so sweet I wasn't able to finish the whole thing, but it's a great drink to share.
We split the large order of the Texas Cheese Fries. They came out HOT and the cheese was melted nicely. Because the jalapeños are cooked they aren't too spicy, but add a great flavor. I don't know what it is about their ranch but it's GOOD and they give you a large amount for dipping. I dipped. A lot.
Chili's is one of the better places to get salads. And I'm not talking about salads that taste like nothing but lettuce. I'm talking about salads topped with LOTS of stuff with FLAVOR. I usually get the Quesadilla Explosion Salad, but I wanted to switch it up and got the Santa Fe Chicken Crispers Salad. You can sub grilled chicken, but I stuck with the fried flavor. Their salads are large and fill you up as your meal. I thought it was delicious!
The only thing I don't like about Chili's is their computer/tablets on each table. You can order drinks, food and pay your bill. I feel like that makes the experience much less personable.
