I never had a problem with this Mod Pizza location until today. I tried to make my usual order for online to pick up, but the ordering system said that my Favorite (Dillion James) was no longer available. I created my own pizza and left a note (which is limited as to the number of characters I could use) that I wanted a Dillion James with Lil’ Hot Mama Peppers.
I picked my pizza up on my way back to work, not bothering to check my pizza because I’ve never had a problem with this location before. But to my surprise, the pizza was burned on one side. Inedible. I called the location and asked to speak to a manager. Jackie helped me and told me that I could come in for another pizza which I did. On my way home from work, I called my pizza order in, introducing myself to the young lady that answered the phone. I thought the young lady hung up because the phone went dead, but Jackie gets on the line and says that her “associate” (said with a tone) passed the phone to her.
I picked up my pizza and when I got home to eat it, I noticed that 3 out of the four slices had the stem tops of the peppers on it. You know what I’m referring to, the tops of the peppers that get cut off and thrown in the trash! THREE OF THESE PEPPER TOPS WERE ON MY PIZZA!! NO RESTAURANT PUTS PEPPER TOPS ON PIZZA!!
Real cute punk kids, real...
Read moreMaybe I just order the wrong stuff, and maybe ordering online is a mistake. I usually order a decently simple pizza. Margherita with some roasted red peppers, arugula, little extra tomatoes and garlic, fairly easy. I guess "adding arugula" means covering the entire crust with arugula to the point of where I can't even get through a whole slice without having to pick the thing apart. Lately I've been getting custom salads instead, which are usually made well and near perfect, but the past two times I've ordered online they've put the dressing on the salad instead of on the side like almost every other pizza place does. And by the time I'm able to come pick it up, the salad is so soggy and the greens are so soaked through with dressing that I have to add some lettuce from home to it because it just tastes like salty mush. I guess I'll go in person from now on, it's not a huge deal but it is disappointing, especially knowing that to get the salad I want (which is made perfect most of the time but after the past couple of experiences I just don't trust online anymore) is gonna take me at least an hour to get during dinner time.
Then again, I could always just make my own salad...
Read moreThe staff that is there now is way more negative and inefficient than they have been in the past. They are more interested in socializing with eachother and their friends who come to visit than they are serving customers. The line moves so slow now and I have had to leave because it was taking too long.
The most disturbing part of the new crew is the cleanliness. On 2 different times of going to this MOD in the last month I watched staff wear the same pair of gloves after taking payments from customers and then go right back to making pizzas without changing gloves. There is a younger male staff with long blonde hair who wears a bracelet that dangles off his wrist from the gloves and onto every topping and pizza he touches. Last night I watched him touch his hair, pull up his pants, take cash payments, fill up his drink and go back to making pizzas all with the same pair of gloves!!! I got so grossed out watching how often the staff touched unclean areas or their self with gloves on and not bother to change them before continuing to make pizzas... I opted not to eat the food because the unsanitary habits were so bad! Love MOD but the one in Castle Rock has gone...
