New review (Sept 2025): (2 stars now) Came for dinner this time, and with both my kids (teens). Was ok, I felt it has gone downhill even after just a few short months. We entered and I got handed menus and a water carafe and was told to take the first open booth. We had to switch to the last booth due to the booth in front of the first open booth (second one in was the open one) had pushed the booth seat back to accommodate themselves and I couldn't sit in the room left. The food wasn't as good as the first time, meat was fattier. The sides we got the same amount as when it was just 2 people whereas we had 4 people this time, exception was more dumplings. I also had to get up and ask for a refill of water for the carafe.

There were also an abundance of gnats and a few flies flying around us. I did see the back door was propped open so likely is why there were bugs about.

Our server also looked like he hadn't showered or brushed his hair in weeks. I know the trend for young people can be an unkempt look but when in customer service, esp food service, it's not a good look for the establishment. His attitude wasnt bad but wasn't good either.

We aren't likely to return.

Old review (around June 2025):(was 5 stars) I thought the food was great. We got the unlimited lunch BBQ setup and enjoyed all the meats and sides. There are sauces at the table if needed (in mild, regular, and spicy). I enjoy having the food already cooked instead of having to do it myself.

The server was super sweet, friendly, with quick service.

Definitely a good place to have here in Castle Rock. It's something different and it's nice overall. The only thing I can dock a point for would be the music was a bit too...

We were really excited when this Korean BBQ spot opened—finally something local instead of driving 30+ minutes! But unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.

Right off the bat, there were no grills in the tables, which is a huge part of the KBBQ experience. When we asked, they told us they don’t have the permits for the grills yet. Totally understandable since they’re new, but it definitely changes the whole vibe of the meal.

We did the all-you-can-eat option and were offered three appetizers to start (steamed egg, cheese corn, and dumplings), which were actually super tasty. But then the server took our menu before we could even order meat and said she’d just bring us “a bit of everything.” That was odd—normally you pick what you want.

When the food came out, it was mostly pre-cooked and placed on a tiny portable “grill” using weak catering flame warmers. The meat didn’t cook—it just stayed warm. We even saw them pulling trays of meat straight out of a kitchen warmer. The pork belly looked like boiled bacon, and the chicken was big, rubbery chunks of dark meat. The brisket was the only raw item and barely cooked on the setup.

We asked for more steamed egg and cheese corn (there were three of us), but were told no—only one serving per table but they did offer us more dumplings…which makes no sense, especially for all-you-can-eat. If someone came solo, would they get the same amount?

Overall, it felt more like a catered buffet than a Korean BBQ experience. Maybe it’ll improve once the grills are in, but for now I’d skip the all-you-can-eat and just order a la carte if you’re curious to...

I wish I would have read the negative reviews more carefully before coming here. We've been to the Aurora location numerous times and enjoyed it, but I really can't recommend coming to this one.

One of the main attractions of KBBQ is being able to cook your own food. At this location (I guess due to permits as per other reviews), they precook almost all of the meat and bring it out on a warming plate. By the time we were half-way done with the meat served, the reamaining was starting to get really overcooked and dried out.

On top of it, service was really bad. We asked for a few addtional meats, and then 10-15 minutes goes by and our waitress asks if we want anything else (yes, what we asked for?). Then we ran out of water, and the water jug never made it back to our table until we went up to the counter to remind them. On top of it, the restaurant was only half-full since the other half of the tables had dishes that were never cleared.

It's great having a KBBQ place closer to us than Aurora.... but frankly for the almost $140 we spent after tax/tip for the 3 of us, we left super disappointed.

Until they get their act together here, I would recommend skipping this location and go to the Aurora one instead if you want authentic KBBQ and a much...

Edit. Second visit was not as good as the first one several months ago. Slower service on a not very busy weekend night. Food tasted different and lacked flavor. Precooked meats were tasteless, dry, and very fatty. Lots of flies inside. Was hoping they would have tables with the hot plate like other locations and we weee role would be coming “very soon” after our first visit about 4 months ago. I will definitely NOT be returning here a third time. Original 5 star review that the second visit didn’t meet the expectations of…: I thoroughly enjoyed all of the meats and sides. Have a few favorites and didn’t need to use their hot sauces but they were all also very tasty. The food sizzling next to me was great and watching the brisket cook trying not to let it overcook was a little fun too. Will definitely get the spare ribs next time too. The food, all of it was so well seasoned and flavorful with a good level of spicy (though I like it hotter, the sauce helped some there). All of which is typically hard to find in Castle Rock restaurants. Definitely returning to this location.

I got the galbi dinner for $38, with two drinks and tax it came out to be around $50 plus a tip Food: There ars no grills which is fine (they dont have a permit at the moment), side dishes were okay? Not great but expected for a franchise, most taste like they're protioned from pre bought bags (like the kimchi) but the salad was ok, portion sizes vs prices is a little crazy but oh well. Hot tea was served to me in a soda glass which was confusing to me as well but no big deal. This food is definitely suited for a less adventurous palate for sure. Also what's with the sesame on the galbi?? Seoul BBQ is my go to so I had higher expectations than I should have. Service: The staff were great!! Even though the food wasnt great the cleanliness, speed, and kindness from owner and staff was amazing and I sincerely thank them for being as kind as they were! Thank you to the owner and staff.
