This has been hit or miss. Smashburger as a whole has slightly gone downhill in my opinion. The portions became way smaller a few years ago and the cost went up. I'm a buck forty guy and generally leave hungry from where which is why we reduced our visits by at least 95%. We only come in once in a great while to see if they figured out where they lack. The new Mac and cheese burger was great though. Came back a few times recently just for that. But they they got rid of it? No I don't go anymore again.
The food and fries are good assuming you get fresh. I've had cold fries. The quality seems to be pretty decent but it's just the portion sizes are off. I do like some of the menu items but really miss the fried pickles. The company can't seem to decide what it is they want to do and it's always in flux. I'm assuming this company is on the downward slide.
This location on hand is generally pretty clean and pretty slow. In fact I think all locations are pretty slow due to my first paragraph. One thing I noticed about this location, was no matter if I order a regular or large fry, they are exactly the same portion size? What the heck is the difference? Three times in a row we tested this out. Completely confused by how you could rip someone off like this so consistently. So I'm not sure if I should complain o got a large or a regular.
Now just waiting on the company to decide what they...
Read moreI'd never had Smashburger before and a friend was hungry for a burger so we settled on this place.
The ordering was easy enough even if the girl behind the counter was bland, didn't speak up so I could hear her and apparently couldn't understand when I asked questions about the menu.
For the record I ordered the double avacado burger, fries and a drink. When offered the "smash" fries, I ordered those.
When in Rome, right?
The fries were nothing to write home about. Many other places have better fries and many more actually fill up that little fry carton. As far as fries were concerned, I felt short changed.
The burger itself was very good. Nice texture on the meat and the bun didn't distract from the other flavors as happens at fast food restaurants (you know, the kind with a drive-thru).
A personal pet peeves if mine is ketchup packets. There are never enough (there weren't this time either) and the waste just ends up in a landfill somewhere making me want pumps, cups or some better way of distributing the fry-sauce.
All that for just under $15 for me. Was it less expensive than 5Guys? Yes. Does 5Guys give you much more fries? Oh, hells yeah!
The burger was just as good a 5G, just...
Read moreA few customers already eating inside. Nobody in line and I think only 1 person waiting for food. So not busy. Think I saw somewhere near 6-7 employees between 2 on registers, 3-4 in kitchen and 1 cleaning. Ordered a double cheeseburger with small fries and a drink to go. $12.50. (lol already).. Drive 10 miles back to work. Sit down, open burger... There's 0 cheeseburger patties on it . Just the lettuce, tomato & onion. How? How do you wrap up a DOUBLE cheeseBURGER with 0 cheeseBURGER patties? Are the patties that small that you can't tell whether there are 2 or 0 between the buns? What about the grill chef cooking the burgers? Was he wondering why there were 2 extra on the grill? They couldn't have been working on more than 2 orders... Just.... how? Had to drive 10 miles back to SmashBurger to get money back. Manager offered to "make it again" but just wanted my money back. Didn't want to risk anything happening to my food. Wasted an hour of my life, half gallon of gas and soooo overpriced - even if I got the 2 patties. It's the size of a whopper jr. but they're charging 'Crave Burger' prices.
See ya...
