Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers Chick-Fil-A has competition in Castle Rock: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Before this new restaurant was open we heard such good things about it. We heard that the chicken was good, but the main reason why it is so good is because of the cane’s sauce. We heard that Raising Cane’s was even better than Chick- Fil-A. On Thursday, September 21st my family and I decided to eat there so we hopped in the car and away we went. The whole ride there I was excited because I love chicken. Upon arrival we noticed that the parking lot was almost full. I personally didn’t like the way they set up the parking lot because it felt like whichever way I turned my car I would hit someone else’s car. Also, the drive-thru wrapped around the building causing the parking lot to feel tighter than it actually is. Walking through the restaurant door I immediately got the feeling of it having a sporty atmosphere, which I personally didn’t like either, but it was a welcoming atmosphere so I felt relaxed while eating. They had a disco ball in the restaurant that didn’t really go with the theme whatsoever. My family and I stood in line for about 10 minutes before we ordered our food. This is when I realized I only had 4 combos to choose from. They could add more to their menu. My grandfather and dad ordered The Caniac Combo which included 6 chicken fingers, coleslaw, fries, two cane’s sauces, Texas toast, and a drink. I ordered The Box Combo which included 4 chicken fingers, coleslaw, fries, 1 cane’s sauce, Texas toast, and a drink. The total for only two combos came out to $21.69. This is when I thought to myself, this better be as good as everyone says it is because that’s a lot of money for only two combos. As we waited for our food I decided I wanted to try their home made lemonade. It was good lemonade but I personally like my lemonade more sour. Sitting at our table we waited 15-17 minutes before we got our food. It was a busy day so I didn’t mind. The staff was really friendly which gave it that comfy make yourself at home type feeling. I was so excited to finally dig into my food that was supposedly so good only to find that it wasn’t as good as everyone said it was. The chicken was definitely fresh, it fell apart in my mouth like salmon it was so fresh, but it tasted like normal chicken to me until I dipped it into my cane’s sauce. I really liked the cane’s sauce. It was the cherry on top for my chicken. I couldn’t get enough of it. I tried my coleslaw next and it wasn’t that great. It tasted like lettuce to me so I didn’t eat it. I enjoyed my Texas toast though, it had just the right amount of butter and garlic on it. All together the experience was good but not the greatest. Comparing it to Chick-Fil-A, it was good food, but I would still get my chicken somewhere else only because of the price. I would recommend Raising Cane’s only to someone who has a lot of money to spend and a lot of time to waste. If you’re thinking about taking your family to Raising Cane’s, I would think again because there are other chicken restaurants in Castle Rock that can feed your whole family at a...
Read moreI LOVE Raising Cane's. So do all my friends. But now we all know that this isn't Raising Cane's and we'll have to go to Denver for now to eat at Raising Cane's. I'd recommend that this place get some good ol' fashion shaping up out back behind the shed from the Denver area Raising Cane's management.
I live in Colorado Springs and I sure am glad they're getting closer to me. Every time I would go to Texas, New Mexico or Eastern Nebraska I would eat at Raising Cane's for EVERY MEAL. Maybe three to six times each visit. This is not an exaggeration. You have to make yourself sick of it if it isn't out your back door. (Also, build one in Colorado Springs please. We know what good food is and everyone here wants one. I'll also force all of my friends and co-workers to go with me once a week.)
So, you could say that I know what Raising Cane's is. It's the best dog gamn chicken fingers you can get anywhere on this side of the universe. In fact, I don't like chicken strips, but this place has the best fried chicken you can get anywhere, period. I've even tried to make Raising Cane's chicken fingers at home and I disgraced the Raising Cane's name in my own kitchen and had to find a priest to bless it to get the blasphemous demons out that I had welcomed in as I fraternized with the internet's devil recipe.
This establishment who's name will not be said because I'm not sure what to call it and I shan't call it "Raising Cane's," needs like... I don't know... two of that weird priest from the movies who brings the sage when the kids decided to play with the Ouija board they found in the attic. And after it's safe to enter, the management from the better of the two Denver area Raising Cane's can feel safe enough to have a professional meeting with the the cooks at this place, behind the shed out back, and teach them about making breading that is fluffy with flavor sent from the gods instead of flat, thin, tasteless breading stuck on to a piece of chicken that's wet with oil. And some of those yummy fries cooked just right. The Texas toast needs some work too but it was pretty close.
Thanks guys! I'll check back in in a month or two. And don't forget to build one of these fine establishments in Colorado Springs. Unless... you don't want a new location with record profits. I mean, that's all up to...
Read moreThere was a ton of hype surrounding this place so we finally gave it a try. I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of options in their menu. Not so much that they literally only have chicken fingers, coleslaw, fries and bread; but that you either order a meal (everything above and a drink), a tailgate portion or a la carte. There were no family meals or size options. One size fry, one size coleslaw and for chicken, it's a meal, feed an army or pay by the piece. It was just strange. And for all the anticipation and rave reviews we heard, it was quite lack luster. The coleslaw is your basic drive thru coleslaw. Mayo heavy and nothing special. The fries weren't bad, though not great either. I'd rather have waffles fries any day. And the chicken was such a let down. It's good, but there is nothing to it. The batter has zero seasonings in it, nor does the chicken. It's just plain, "vanilla" chicken strips. And while their sauce is good, it's not anything I would pay for. Yes, you literally have to pay for their sauce-no other options aside from ketchup. The service was great and the food was hot. However, for a family of 3 (and I'll admit I over ordered as I didn't know what to expect and went a la carte), $38 was steep. I doubt we'll return anytime soon. I think if you've got a VERY simple palate, you'll love it. On another note, I was irritated that upon asking what was in the sauce, I was told "I can't tell you that". Really? How about for allergy reasons? Or because I'm PAYING FOR IT. I wasn't asking for their exact recipe, I just wanted to know the basics. It was like pulling teeth to get them to tell me it was...
