Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Cathedral City

OMG I Don't Know Where To START!? DO YOU HAVE TIME? THIS WILL TAKE A MINUTE!! Ok at the Beginning it is! There was No One to Seat Us. And Only After asking a worker (on his phone) 3 Separate Times if We could Seat Ourselves, did he STOP Pretending He Didn't See Us In Front of Him and He Sat Us In FLY CENTRAL!! (Remember This Guy) Next If you sit in a booth where we were seated BRING YOUR OWN FLY SWATTER! (They Should Hand Them Out!) I literally couldn't concentrate on placing my order cuz a Filthy FLY Kept Landing On My Forehead! When I Pointed Them ALL Out Flying Over People's Heads & Tables to Our Server He just Shrugged It Off as if He was Told Not to Acknowledge Them!? Or He just Didn'tF. Care. I had to open my paper napkin placing it Over The Entire Plate of Cheese Sticks to keep the FLYS Off of Them, Only to have a Different Guy than our server walk by and Reach Between Us & TOOK My Plate of Cheese Sticks! I called out 3 X's before he acknowledged me, I told him "You Took My Food!" Pointing to The Flies as A Reason for the Napkin! Then we both ordered the 2 for $24. Dishes of CRISPY SHRIMPS. The WORD CRISPY IN the Name. What We Got I knew at FIRST Glance They Were NOT Crispy but Were Very Doughy! The Wet Flour was Sooooo DISGUSTING We SPIT IT OUT IMMEDIATELY! We Sent both Orders Back & was Pleased with the Steak & Broccoli. Remember the Guy on his phone that Ignored Us, Well my friend handed Him Our Bill, Her Bank Card & Our Server's TIP. I told her He Wasn't Our Server as Our Server Walked Up the First Guy PALMS Our Server's TIP while Only Handing Him The Card & Bill! I Watched Him Do It and I Told Him I Saw Him but He DIDN'T GIVE IT BACK!! So we Paid Out Our TIP TWICE!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ALL THE...

By far the worst customer service. Every visit seems to be a very unpleasant.

From waiting in the lobby for an hour for a table. If your a family party of 3 or even 7 it's always a hour wait at happy hour and at any given hour it seems like. They even lose track of who came in 1st. And even the greeter argues with customers when advise that another party had arrived before the party that was going to be seated. After the hour wait. We didn't receive a high chair for about 30minute that we asked for prior to being sat.

At every visit drinks are never asked to be refilled. We had to ask 3 severs for utensils. To the point where I had to get up and ask the greeter where I could get some for my family. Which still took a while because they where not rolled up. We were soo hungry that our food turned into finger food. Not even napkins were available. No small plates for our appetizers. Even when the server remembered her remark was "Oh let me get you some small plates, straws and etc" she forgot. Even the water she offered was never served. Now let's talk about the food.

Boneless (hot/sweet asian flavored) wings where dry. Spinach artichoke dip was fine but the tortilla chips where stale. There steak is ok. The broccoli looks old. Loaded mash potatoes bacon is super hard. Arnold Palmer tastes like water. Our kids food arrived 10minutes after we all received our food. But still had to wait since she needed a fork.

I should have asked for all there names. But I believe this was a team experience.

So we tried Applebee's again. Waitstaff was incredibly helpful. We sat at the bar and we're taken well care of. As I sat down in an open spot and the bar was dirty in a spot that had been missed in the wipe down before we got there. The bartender quickly cleaned at my request. I ordered a Lemon Drop and my partner ordered a vodka soda. Both came in record time and we're excellently made. My partner went to the bathroom and reported it was, in his words - filthy. We ordered the 2 for $20 which is an excellent value. It came with 2 salads or an appetizer. We chose the salads. Me the Ceaser and my partner the house salad. Salads came and the house was very good and looked great. My Ceaser came and it looked to have been on the plate for a while. Flat, not well placed and wilted lettuce which I had to pick out. Taste was good but with minimal dressing which I chose not to ask for more or a replacement. Dinner entrees came and my partner had the chicken strips and I had the Sante Fe chicken. Taste of both we're good for this value meal. My comment here is my white plate had grunge marks from being stacked and gave the plate a dirty look. I rubed on the spots and they didn't come off. My tip to Applebee's at this location is to take a little more pride in your serving. Take an extra second to remember if it looks good it taste good. Working around a dirty looking plate, wilted salad and a dirty bathroom made me a little nervous as to what...
