IHOP — Restaurant in Cathedral City

This morning I came in with my dad and my son. There was a waitress with piercings that acknowledged us and let us know we could sit down wherever we pleased and they’d be right with us. As we were finding a spot to sit, another waitress, unfortunately we didn’t get her name as she never formally introduced herself, she questioned us asking if we were looking for someone, to which my dad replied “no, we’re just trying to find a spot to sit” she then responded raising her voice saying “you’re supposed to wait over there because we’re supposed to give you the menus, that’s why” her attitude was not only disgusting but uncalled for. THEN, she sat a couple down, gave them menus, went to another table and took their order, THEN decided she’d come and give us menus. I let her know that we were told to come and find our seat, and her response was “oh well I didn’t know” I’ve worked in the service industry and I’d be so embarrassed if i were her, if she didn’t know she should’ve checked in with her coworker, or at the very least, had a far better tone when speaking to us. Not knowing something does not give you the right to speak to paying customers that way.

I just spent 60 plus dollars on food we didn't eat or only took a few bites of. When I say the food was absolutely awful oh my God. I ordered some steak and it came out in small squares but the squares looked like someone chewed a piece of steak spit it out and shaped it into a square then served it to us. I was then given chicken in exchange of the steak and that was just as awful and chewy. I genuinely lost my whole appetite. I'm not one to complain about food but I just really could not say something about this. I would be embarrassed to see the plates and food look as they did and give it out to people to eat. I would be even more embarrassed to be the owner allowing things to go out like that. The server was very great tho. She was genuinely nice and attentive. I feel bad that my feedback on how bad the food was went through her and not directly to the cook or owner. Cook and owner should be ashamed. Worse $60 I have ever...

I went in there yesterday, mid-afternoon to grab something quick to eat. I walked in and waited to be seated, per the sign that says Please wait to be seated. I waited 10 minutes and no one showed up to seat me. The only person I saw in there was the cook. Him and I awkwardly looked at each other every few minutes. No hostess, which is presume is normal for slow afternoon hours. There were no servers or managers in sight either. There were 4 tables seated and 2 of them were looking around for a server as well.
